Nigel

Yep, but RCJi fuel figures are well about JC's for the P-80...so based on that I guess I'm close!

While making a comparison between the latest 100N turbines it is well worth looking at J-Munts new Merlin 100X.Built like a Rolex watch and verymuch smaller and lighter than either the two JetCat turbines with built in valves and only one fuel inlet line it seems to have the oppostion beat.

Merlin 100X Engine:
The succesful M100 engine has been elected to be the first to receive our new electronic system.
Sensors and valves are installed inside the motor, simplifying installation.

The engine has only one fuel input directly from the pump, and a 3-wire electrical connection to the ecu that carry the battery power and a bidirectional digital bus. All measures and data from the engine are transmitted to the ecu in digital data format, using a high speed propietary protocol specially developped for this application.
The bus design allow a distance up to 15meters from engine to ecu while keeping the generated noise by the bus to a very low level to not affect other devices nor to be affected by them.
All engine parameters and timers are stored in the engine, installation parameters (radio settings, etc) are stored in the ecu, enabling the swap of the engine without any adjust.
Specifications:
Nominal thrust: 100N (22,5lb) at 152.000 RPM
Idle thrust:5N
Idle RPM: 42,000
Diameter: 90mm (3.5&rdquo
Engine weight: 985g (2.2lb) (including mounting strap)
Installed weight: 1,100g (2,4lb) including ecu, pump, valves.
Fuel: Kerosene + 3% - 5% oil (synthetic 2T motorcycle oil or turbine oil).
EGT typ: 650ºC
Fuel comsumption: 360ml/min

Made a first test run today of my new P90-RXi. The turbine worked perfectly at -2°C , check the pictures for run data,
Please note that Jetcat revised the weight for this engine to 1584g. Shall integrate it in my Futura 1.9 next week.
I used here the old GSU, but P90 is delivered with the new one.

Anyone know why Jetcat didn't bring out a newer generation P60?
There's quite a few interesting 90mm edf frames that might suit one, also they have quite a size jump in between the 20class and p90.

A P-60 size of turbine is way to big for a 90mm edf airframe. P-60 size models are not that common. The P-100Rx is P-60 length and P-70 diameter and suits most P-60 airframes better.

I did ask them to make a P-40 size turbine....but had to concede market was not big enough.

The Jetsmunt 35 should be along soon which will fill the gap nicely.

Thanks Dave, just out of interest could you give an example of what size airframe would suit a p60? eg. wingspan, weight, length etc

Edit: My question is a bit off topic so I'll rephrase it and put it in to a different thread.
