I got the maiden out of the way today at SVF and it went perfect, two clicks of up elev and that was it. Now it gets parked for a paint job thankyou Todd and Ryan for all those photos and emails full of info and Tony Quist for doing the final balance, it feels right on and grooved really nice. I know Uncle Joe took some real nice pics because i saw them !! I cant wait to get started on the paint work and get back out there for more flying.

Vin. Congrats. The ME looks good now and I'm sure you will improve it. What TX is that you are using?

Hi Ryan,
Yes, it is a P-180rx turned down to 32lbs thrust. BTW i used all of your control throw settings and cg and it seemed to work for me too

I noticed the primer around the rear end. Was this a modification
of a standard configuration ME 262?

What's the go with intake air? Do you duct air from the nacelles, gun
ports, scale fuselage air inlets, cheater hole, all of the above?

The reason I ask is a friend has the 2 me Airworld version under construction
for two Wren 44's but he may be interested in a safer, single engined layout.

Thanks, John.

John
Yes this version has a special nozzle insert glued in the tail section for the single engine rocket propelled version. Grumania sells the kit in both versions. Air intake is from the nacelles, shell ejector and gun openings. Also there is a cheater hole with screen covering it on the bottom just behind the front Gear door. I suppose your friend could mod his smaller AW and do the same thing

There is a lot of work to assemble this jet. It is definately not arf but if you have some building experience it is no biggie.I bought it from someone in minn and there was some work already done on the jet by Joe Grice. The jet was about 50% built when i got it and i put in 6 weeks of 4+ hrs a day (every day) to get it ready to fly. There is a fair share of head scratching and " how should i do this part" type stuff but like i said if you have some building skills it is not too bad, the end result is well worth the effort.

HA! Build 2 from the ground up including paint with no pictures from that other guy ( a.k.a. me!) and then tell me it's a lot of head scratching and work. Once done though, they are a nice bird and have no bad habbits. Both of the ones I built are still going strong and have been flown all over the country in the past 2 years. Ilja produced a nice flying scale jet.
