Default omg omg omg my first turbine, Kingtech K80F pitot tube question

I just recieved and mounted my new and first turbine to my test bed, I would like to install a pitot tube into the fadec to give me an idea of the stupid speeds in which it runs. Does anyone know of a compatible pitot tube system that would work witht he kingtech fadec? I know eagle treee have one, would that work?

Thanks in advance,

Devin

If you are referring to rpm the ecu will already tell you what rpm it is running. If you want the exhaust gas velocity, I doubt a pitot will help you, if the heat doesn't destroy it I doubt it will read the velocity. I don't know for sure what the kingtech is but I know there are plenty of turbines where exhaust gas velocity exceeds 1000mph according to manufacture specifications.

Yep... what he said.

If you are looking for air speed of the model... then this was covered earlier this week. (do a quick search)

What?

Pitot tube measures air speed. I understand that. Could someone link me or tell me a model that would work with my xicoy fadec? (this is for mouting to my jet....)

Thanks in advance,

Devin

There you go... but this AIRSPEED SENSOR only limit the JET by dialing down the turbine RPM preventing the jet going pass 200 MPH.

Yes the eagletree pitot should work. JetCat has one too but for 10 bucks I would go with the eagletree.

This of course assumes you already have the little electronic transducer that Xicoy sells.

Well.. until your second post I understand your question, so don't be so hard on them But welcome to the club. Its been a while since my first turbine start (Propane Switch and Airswitch plus ignition key yr 2001 . and how good it feel.. wait.. I still get that feeling
Feel free to ask question if you are not sure, because turbine repairs are expensive.

Thanks Basimpsm!

hahaha, i cant say what i want to on an online forum open to the general public and the younger ones. But yes, i wont bring it to bed.... all the time..

But i heard the inlet suction is immense? I should be careful? I have a nice test bed nothings in front and i have a make shift fod screen until i order one from king tech...

My fathedr worked for Pratt for 40 years so hes helping me out with it, but hes worried about a tri hub failure, althought i know its not as complex as a pt-6.. i should satnd in front of it i guess?
