Hi Larry, What a great job you are doing on this project. It is good to see things being built that don't come finished in a box. I love the fact that others can see this and know with some effort anything is possible. Hopefully you can post a video of the test flight. Good luck with it.

1950 Navy Jet...
Hi Jimmie,
Sorry I didn't have time to let you or Ron know about the test flight, but it was a last minuet thing. I wanted to do the test flight on Monday the 9th, but I went and got a part time job and they want me to work on Monday. When I saw the weather on Friday night, I made up my mind right then to do it on Saturday the 7th. I went over the plane on Friday night checking out the washout on the wings to make sure both had the same setting.
When I got to the field on Saturday, I asked someone there to do a control throw with me, just to make sure I didn't have them reversed. I mentioned that when you spend so much time and money on a non proven airframe, I need an extra set of eyes on the throws.
Looks like everything paid off.....

Thanks Bob,
The P-120 never missed a beat. I didn't open it up because I had the landing gear down the entire flight. I tried to take off on a second flight and the left brake locked up. So now I have to work on the brakes and add 4 oz of nose weight. Start painting it and getting it ready for October....

I wanted something other than F-16's, F-15's, King Cats, Bob Cats, Boomerangs, all sizes, Flash's. Looked around and noticed that no one had ever built a FJ-1 Fury. So here it is. It is a real easy plane to fly, except you must carry power right through the final turn to approach or it will drop out of the turn. As you can see from the video, it lands real well.
I have a friend that lives in CA and he really likes it.

Larry, I just watched the video of the first flight and way to go! We're all looking forward to seeing it first hand in a few weeks. I'll be up Wednesday to setup camp and we'll save you guys a spot near us if we get there first.

I was nervous, to say the least. I had everyone stay down during the test flight. I told them that this was a "non proven airframe" and I wanted the sky to my self. As you can see in the video, it went very well. Here are the latest photos of it with all the decals on it. See you at Hamburg for the Jet Rally.....

Let's hope I have it a long, long, time. I just have to get use to the way it flies. I almost lost it on the second flight. I was going into the last right turn on final and I had it too slow. It dropped out of the turn and fell about 50 feet before I got it back under control. I managed to get the power up to full and climb to a safe altitude and then make a safe landing. Must carry more power on final so that doesn't happen again. See you at Hamburg....

Results Of A Great Jet Project...
Here is a photo of the "Pilot's Choice" reward that I got for flying my scratch built FJ-1 Fury at the Farview Jet Rally in Hamburg Pa this weekend (Oct 3rd-6th). Just goes to show you what a little hard work does for you. I want to thank everyone for this award.....

Hi Larry,
I know Greg pretty well. He is a great pilot. He also knows how to detail a plane very well. I am not surprised that he won the JPO trophy. Congratulations Greg!.............If you get a chance post some PIx. and videos of the event. It would be fun to see.

I tried to upload photos from the Farview Flyers Facebook page, but they are locked. Here are a two photos of the Fury from the event. This is the best I can do right now. If you want to see some photos, you will have to go to the Farview Flyers Facebook page.....
