NEW BUILDERS JET KIT VAMPIRE
There is a new kit of the DH VAMPIRE for 60-80 sized turbines that has just gone on sale in the UK, it is a traditional build in mostly wood and a good size at 1995mm/ 78.1/2 inches span available as a plan at 45£ /70 usd up to the comprehensive kit consisting of plan, vac form set, CNC cut wood pack and all other sheet and strip required to build the airframe priced at 320£/ 504usd or these items can be bought separately which will allow the builder to spread the cost over a period of time. There is also a dedicated oleo/retract set available for the plane This concept will bring owning a scale jet to a wide audience at a low price which can only be good for the sport. Tony is a one man band so delivery can take up to a month when he is busy
Tony Nijhuis (ny-house) is a respected designer and kitter in the UK and you should expect only quality from him and he can be found at :- www.tonynijhuisdesigns.co.uk

RE: NEW BUILDERS JET KIT VAMPIRE
Kimhey, you are welcome.
Sid, yes I agree,I don't actually know Tony but I know he does good work with his kitting and I am leaning heavily towards this one as I love the early jets also the Vampire has not been done to death. some where it says that his prototype came out around 21lbs so it should fly well.

I am very interested in a traditional balsa build Hawker Hunter at 1:6 scale for a P-120. Anyone knows if Tony may be interested in it? I would purchase the canopy and plans

Hmm..... first quote for the shipping cost from the UK to Denmark is 80£ []
surely, expenses like this will hit the export of british merchandise.

RE: NEW BUILDERS JET KIT VAMPIRE
You can send 10kg with parcel force for £80 and that is the fastest service, it can be sent global value for £42 but that is again for 10kg cant imagine it weighs 10kg.
Probably cubic weight, so might be better not to get the wood pack as it is probably the lengths of these which is the problem, so just buy the cnc formers, mouldings etc, and get the sheet and strip locally.

RE: NEW BUILDERS JET KIT VAMPIRE
I emailed Tony last evening and just had a reply, He says that due to the unexpected success of the Vampire he is planning more turbine powered kits in the future and is also working with Wren turbines on a venture. The up coming designs which could take a while are two trainer types ,a Vulcan without bificurated pipe for a single turbine ,and yes a Hunter! the best of British designs during the fifties in my view.

I also mailed him about other projects, and this is the answer
Yes will definitely be extending the range but keeping to the simple early jet era with large wing area allowing the pilot to operation from a smaller club type field and also avoiding the need for costly braking system.
The Hunter will be the next scale model ....
