FYI: I asked for a purchase quote including airfreight to LAX

Hello David,

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, due to a chest size of the aircraft can be transported only by boat or by land. The complete kit price of EUR 5,600 + shipping. Shipping to USA east Coast approx. EUR 650.If you have any questions feel free to write.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Best regards,
Agoston Bobok

I'm having a hard time visualizing that journey to LA, CA! Might even be slower than the proverbial "slow boat from China".

$8476.12 shipped. For what you're getting I think it's a bargain!

Hey Daivd
Yes it will be a long trip. Agoston could not get a freight carrier to ship from him to the states via air freight. It is s large wooden crate. Not a cardboard box.
It is about a month long trip from him to me here in Alabama. But I think it will be worth the wait.

George,

At which US entry port will it arrive first and then how will you arrange transport to you? I assume from the entry port to you will be additional cost. I need to get an idea of how I would get it from the East coast, out here to CA.

Let's see, from Hungary across Europe, in a truck, in the dead of winter, to some exit port in France, I assume, onto a freighter bound for NY? Miami? Thru US customs, back on a truck, to final destination in US. WHEW! The things we go thru for this hobby!

Price of 5600,00 euro is low for so quality model and so quality parts you get in this kit. This Mig 15 is beyond museum quality model...
Don't forget, model is not small, it's 1/4 scale!!!!!!!!!!

As I told, I was few times in Agoston work shop and speak with him many hours. Quality of every part, is awesome...
All tanks are made from kevlar, landing gears are custom made on CNC machines, wheel hubs also, tool for tires are also special made just for this model and so on...

I have opportunity to look pictures of real Mig 15 (Agoston made more than 10.000 photos in museum near Budapest) and details on the model parts.
Everything is absolute same on model, like on the real airplane. Every rivet row, every screw, rivets number, size, position...
He work on details on the model, more than 15 months!!!

Other think I know, Agoston have only one set of the molds, so if you want model better order it soon...
Making model like this, need a lot of time, so if you are not fast, maybe you will be on waiting list...
Agoston told me how much Mig 15 per year he can produce, so if you want to buy best jet model on the market today, better call him today...

And finally, I haven't nothing from this propaganda about this Mig 15.
Just want to share with you my impress, because I saw Mig live...
Picture is picture, but when you see it live, that is different story...

Regards from Serbia

Hello David,
Unfortunately, the shipping limits are not moderated by modelers. Must adapt to the opportunities. Packets sent to the U.S. anyway, trucks reach Hamburg (Germany),
there loaded on board and one on the east coast port after arrival and again transported by truck to the destination.

5600 x 1.3653 = $7645.68 American for the Mig 15 ... What's all included? If it's Just Air Frame and Landing Gear and accessories with creating and shipping. Sounds like it's better than a good deal. Any more would be a FANTASTIC Deal.

Hi,

I have been following this thread since day one and curiously waited for the updates. When it first came I have to admit I was incredible impressed, in fact so impressed I took contact with the builder, Agoston at Flytechnique in Hungary with a certain purpose - a visit to take a closer look at what seems to be a wonderful scale model, at least by the pictures.

To make a long story short I got a positive respond from Agoston and I went off for a three days trip to Budapest...

Agoston picked me up at hotel and we went straight to his company facilities, really nice and modern style. And when I got to the MIG-15 all the impression from the pictures here at RCU was absolutely confirmed!
Like Mirce said earlier in this thread, it´s a masterpiece. Super detailed, made from zero! Agoston has done everything from A-Z with impression.
The quality of everything is amazing, the same with the level of details... For sure this will be my next model and hopefully be ready for the season 2014 :-)

The numbers of scale detail is continuing to expand and the latest news is the scale flap mechanism witch is operated by four linear servos from Firgelli. I think this is a "must" on a scale model of this level.

Agoston is also a super nice guy and a perfect host and took his time to guide me around the amazing Budapest, with historical stops in both Buda and Pest.
In many ways a really memorable and exiting trip. I attach some pictures with approval from Agoston.

A big thank to Agoston for his dedication to this hobby! Looking forward to the shipment :-)

Yes RoLe thanks for the new pics and the update from Agostons shop. I got word from him yesterday that my bird has finaly shipped out. So now all I can do is wait for it to show up here in the states. Agoston told me it might take 4 weeks but we'll keep our fingers crossed an see if it gets here any sooner.

Well my bird should be here next week. The long ride from Agoston's place to the port in Germany took about a weeks time. Then the delay of almost two weeks there because of weather in New York. Then the boat ride across the Atlantic a good 2 weeks there. Off load there on March 14th I think it was. Sit some more in a Jersey warehouse. Should have left yesterday heading to Atlanta. Customs work is all ready done. It, I hope should be here at my door on Thursday this week.
Long wait but I know it will be well worth it.
The shipping company the Agoston uses is very good. No problems thus far. Pretty much on time from when I got the first shipping notice. I just hope no monkey along the way has put a forklift through the center of the crate.

Hey Andy
The dry empty weight per Agoston is 180-19 kg.
Plane wet is 200-350-25 kg.
Plane carries 7L
