I got the magic email this morning from Agoston :-) I chose to have him do a few more things to it, should ship in a week. How long did it take for you guys who had it shipped to the US?

This is the scheme I am favoring. Just like seeing the red.

Here are my friend’s pictures of the rear bumber of the B.N. 512 from Szolnok aviation museum .
The length of the bumber is about 520mm.

Here is a 15 bumper.... San Diego Museum plane... from my collection.... This one has been Used!

The typical 'bis' version is more symmetric front to back than many 3 views show.

I do have a question maybe someone can put an answer to: On most photos you see crew working in the front-compartement of the plane, I know the hatch itself is secured with 6 locks (3 on each side) - but is it simply lifted off and placed (on the ground) during maiteinance? I also belive having seen this cover (front)-hinged on some photo...... Wich is correct?
Thank You for enlightening this item.

Tow,
I do not think that the cover was hinged as otherwise they would have had a problem swinging it due to the nose wheel indicator pin as highlighted in the attached photos. Also there do not seem to be any hinges on the front cover. It was likely that the cover was pulled upwards.

Mr Busuttil please note!

Reuben

So mine is in Houston and almost through customs. What a pain to receive a plane via ship! So far, I'm hitting around $500 more in fees to have the broker and all the gov agencies make this happen. Is this the norm?

Hi Mike..

It is normal.. We paid the same for the Mibo A-10 and the F104 from Modelbau. Got spoiled with F14 from Skymaster which was a direct delievery to the door step.

Between .. Broker fee, one time bond fee, document fee.. It all adds up to the $500.00... Then you got to see if you have to go to custom to pick up or they will deliever...

Let us know how it was packed and delivered.... I have one on order...

I was told it is door to door. that is nice. Usually have to go to a freight company by the airport. This is probably going straight to storage, but i will take a peek ;-)

From the picture they might be some form of Hartwell Latch with a lot of grease and dirt on them.
Google Hartwell latches and look at them .. For full scale planes they ain't cheep.

Well its back to work on the mig. I've had it back from Metalmorphous for a while, but just have not felt like working on it. So now with KY jets less then a month out, I'm going to see if I can get it polished up and reassembled. I've started on the wings tonight. One down one to go then on to the rest. Ralle at Taylormade graphics sent me an email saying the dry transfers and paint mask were going out tomorrow.

How did you have it come over? Boat or air. Agoston does do a very very good job of packing an floating the plane in the crate. Hopefully all is well. The fear of any other monkeys moving my crate was the reason I went and picked it up directly from the airport. I didn't want znothe company touching it an then trying to tell me "they did not damage it". Been there done that.
