RE: JMA TOPGUN 2013 MAY 18/19
Given the forecast in the days leading up to the weekend, i was far from confident that it was going to workout for us, but thankfully i was wrong and it really was a good weekend for everyone. Thank you to all who made the effort to come, quite a few had driven along way to support the event and it was very much appreciated. All were rewarded by the opportunity to get in as much flying as they could!
There was a good gathering on Saturday night at a nearby pub, i think a few suffered in the morning
The raffle was sponsored by Ripmax (Peter Addyman), Weston-Super-Models (Dave Cuff), Deluxe materials and Horizon Hobby UK. Big thank you goes to the contributors and also those who bought tickets as the £300 raised will now be donated to naval charities.
For me, the model of the weekend was not even a jet! it was Mick Burrell's Sea Fury, sounded and looked fantastic! The hydraulic wing fold really is very nicely done. Very fitting that it should be flying from a naval air station, the full size is not too far away at RNAS Yeovilton.

Just got home from Merryfield couldn’t face the drive Sunday so stayed over. Had a great weekend thanks to Jamie + all those involved in the organisation. Thanks also for all the comments on the Sea Fury, I sure enjoyed displaying it for you all. I suppose I’m going to have to pay a huge ransom to the kidnapper!
Thanks Geoff see you all at Wyton.

The new Ripmax/Flying Legends Xcaliber sport jet made an appearance but it did not fly, my Dad liked it so much that he ordered one! hopefully it will not be too long before it arrives on our shores.

Hi There was also a dark blue fold up chair left behind Sunday evening, if its yours contact me and we can arrange to get it back to you. I managed to get a couple of flights in later on the Sunday when it was quite with my JL 1/6 F16 with a cam attached to the top of the fin, gives you a good look at the airfield from on high. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXhO6xyudeg

However, I'm happy for you to dump if it you like as I noticed that someone of, let's say, considerably more volume than I must have sat on it and buckled it. If you have no means to bin it I should be at Wyton on Sunday to take it back off you.
Rgds,
Mark

Ah...that will be me...I was assured by Dean that the chair was Geoff proof but obviously he is wrong. Buy a new one Mark and I will reimbuse you...or maybe Dean should

Hi Pat, Its just the cheap HD cam from Hobby King costing about £26, it uses a micro SD card, has its own lipo, its small and light at about 2/3 the size of a matchbox and can record for hours. Its simply packed off to give the right angel with servo tape and then stuck on plus a strip of good old gaffer tape for extra security. Its was all a bit last minuet, but I was reminded I had the cam in my Tx case wile waiting for Jamie to clear the runway so quickly popped it on.If you look carefully there's another cam on the canopy from the guy that was doing the filming of the event with his Hex-copter, it will be interesting to compare.I've always got the cam with me if you want to borrow it and you can give it a go when were at the field, CU soon?Regards Mark
