Be grateful for some help with this part. I presume it's the rear thrust tube support and I have two questions:

1 - Where exactly should it be positioned?
2 - Once in position, how do I insert the tube? Seems to me that once the support is in position, the tube wont pass over it from the front and the bypass wont go in from the rear.

Thanks for your help

Bob

I glued mine on top of the lower bulkhead. It goes on the one just below the front bulkhead under the servo tray. Then used the wood tee that bolts to the top off the bulkhead on the front side where the sero tray is.

I made a small curved piece to attach to the tee to take out the slop.

You can screw in the top brace after you put the pipe in from the front. The tail pipe will slide in over the bottom brace.

I don't have any pictures. I hope this will help.

Hi Bob, I played with that piece and didn't like it so made a strap from 0.5mm steel that holds the pipe in place and gets screwed to the rails. Then with the "T" on the top, it is solid and since you can easily remove it, it would not interfere with the pipe if you need to pull the pipe out.

Has a P-200sx for power, Flys on rails a little more tweaking and will be perfect. sure hope we can meet up sometime. My Skygate should be here with in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I am definitely going to do the hatch for the motor like Scott did. I dread if I have to pull motor on this plane.

I don't have any problems but I didn't use the factory semi by pass parts. I can easly change the kingtechs becuase the 180 and 210 are the same bolt patern.

Stab servo heat protection

My Hawk has the stab servos at the rear sitting over the thrust tube and I'm wondering what heat protection, if any, I need between the tube and servos. I'm very keen to keep the weight down so I don't want to add anything that's not actually needed.

Be grateful for your thoughts and experience on this one

Thanks

Bob

I can help you here.
My PST Revision and both Airworld Hawks have servos at rear just above the jet pipe. To protect them from heat, I placed a "screen: just a sheet of 1/8 balsa covered with the insulating material sold by Wren, just below the servos. The temp adjacent to the servos was then measured by inserting a temp. probe adjacent to the servos.

The screen resulted in a temperature rise that was insignificant, weighs next to nothing. Hundreds of flights with these models, never a problem.

Am looking for the correct BS number for the Red Arrows grey landing gear colour. Anyone know if this number is correct - BS381 627 Light aircraft grey?

Thanks

Hey there David,

I've been on the WREN UK site and cannot find the insulating material you refer to......any guidance would be most helpful

Hi Bill, there are two other products you can use. One is BVM Heat blanket and the other one is heat shield with Aluminum backing that Duralite in Canada sells.

When I went to the web page Bob provided I recognized the material and remembered the BVM material for sure......appreciate the alternatives and will definitely investigate

Here's a modernized set of panels, dash, and hud we have come up with for the Skygate hawks ( or resized to any big hawk) this one is getting fully lit with back lighting, and up to 20x OLED working instrument screens .

693 is the only grey shown on the official RAF Red Arrows paint schedules.

The landing gear is probably NOT painted at the MU who paint the externals, but serviced and painted externally by the manufacturers.

XX310 is the latest Hawk to join the Reds from storage at Shawbury, a Hawk I flew 22 years ago, so my SkyGate is , XX310 !

Looks great with the new fin colours, all paints and markings from Tailor Made, whose markings are EXACTLY correct scale.

Hi Hawk owners,

Did anyone use Robart Air cylinders for the gear doors yet, and if so - which ones?

Thanks for your help

What pilots are y'all using? I have the quarter scale versions and they seem to be a little small.. Thanks, Mike
