CARF Skygate Hawk in the house !

Question for the ones that got the white SG Hawk, did you guys removed the flaps fro painting? It is quite difficult to remove the screws and then reinstall them without scratching the paint, at least is what I see before trying to do it...

On board ride in the Hawk
Cool video with my gopro in the back seat of the Hawk. This was at Michigan Jets. I have had to open the restriction in the intakes and install the canoply middle brace.
I really like this view.
Enjoy

Just about ready to maiden my Hawk, can some one please give me the landing and take off flap settings in millimeters? The recommended 60 degrees of landing flaps looks like a bit much.
Thanks,
Don

you can't have too much flap. The more the better. It will slow down but it likes the flap on final. Just test it up high. I have some down elevator mixed in mine also.
if you don't have any restriction in the intakes it will take a lot of throttle when dirty to stay up.
i am loving mine
hope per to see you at Hamburg.

Jeff, I flew it today and the 60 degrees of flap was fine for landing. Your right about the down elevator, it needed some but not much. I am planning on putting some restriction in the inlets at Hamburg. I got 145 mph out of her today straight and level with a P 200SX. Cant wait to see what it will do with the restrictors.

I cut a little bit more out and I have it just right now. I wish I could give you some % but I just did some guessing. It will do about 175 now but it slows up very nice. I just got in from GA jets and hope to have another video..
Oh yea I have the cortex gyro in now and I love it. It is rock steady on landings even with cross winds.
I was telling everbody at GA jets about yours and I am looking forward to seeing you and your bird there.

Hi Jeff
would it possible for you to take a coupe of picture of the cockpit and post it. I installed the front section ( front dash) and for some reason I feel it is too high.
thanks

Sorry for the 'slow' uptake but am not quite sure how to interpret the information you were kind enough to share...
Could you, or perhaps someone who's read and understood the information, clarify it for me please?
Thanks,
Bill

I flew at 305mm first time. That is what the manual calls for. That was with no extra weight. It was nose heavy in flight. I ended up moving the 2 life 3600mah batteries from under the front seat to behind the main gear doors. moved turbine battery back from the nose to under rear seat. Still will not hold a wheelie very long on landing but flies much better inverted.
I trying to lose more weight in the nose. The cockpit and pilot provide plenty of wieght up front.
