When you do convert, you will only have nine channels

You have a few choices. You can go with Spectrum (http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...ble-SPMMSJR720), Hitech (http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/air...pectra24j.html) or Weatronic (http://weatronic.e-vendo.de/set-s/Se...04&t=5&c=5&p=5) I use the Weatronic and I feel they are the best, but when I used the Spectrum I never had a problem. The guys that are using the Hitech stuff seem to like it. You can't go wrong with any of the choices.

I would recommend weatronic all the way...With it's software possibilities you will never be short of channels.
A real 'made in Germany' product...

I have a JR10x still and at one point I had the Spektrum module in it ... it wasnt a great fit to be honest, I never had confidence in it ... I sold it in the end and ended up going dedicated Futaba.

I believe the Weatronic is the best choice. As eraysa said...A real 'made in Germany' product...and i'll totally agree with him.
Ιn addition i had always the curiosity to test one of their products..

Hi,

I have one with a Spektrum module in mine. Works great and I've never had a single issue with it. I use a Futaba 12FG for my jets now, though.

I have a Modual in my 10X and have never had one single problem. I have a 11X that I use most of the time now but keep my 10X with the 2.4 Mod in it for my foamies and park stuff.

Hobbico made a FASST module for awhile that would fit. They pop up for sale once and awhile. I have used a 2.4 Spektrum module on a 8103, 9303 and a 10x with no problems. The early module with external antenna sucked for fit and ease of changing back to 72mhz but the newer one with integral antenna is much better and looks cleaner too.

The Hobbico version is still available, just under the Ripmax brand name.

I've been using this module coupled with the Futaba R6014HS receiver & Orbit Powerjack, without so much as a hiccup. So far it's been a rock solid setup.

The Weatronic is a great choice, it will take your very good but, older JR radio and give it a state of the art RF deck. You will have 12 channels but, will only be able to "control" 9 of them. This is not a problem because the 3 that cannot be directly controled can be a second aileron, second flap or second elevator servo which of course have no need for direct control. This is accomplished by actually programming them in the receiver so, the net effect is 12 channels even though your transmitter only has 9

I know there are a lot of people that use the module and have had great results. I however lost two aircraft using it. They were different aircraft, different receivers, different airfields but I lost both on the upwind turn. I never used that Tx again, I gave it to a friend for parts....not the module parts.

I have 4 - 10x with spectrum 2.4 conversion. using them for about 5 years now , 2 jets, 1/4 and 1/3 scale frop planes. not a single issue. yes only 9 ch but with power boards ( EQ , or duralite , or match box's ) I get more ch . with the right programing you can get up to 14 ch from the 10x.
great radio , and today you can find them for around $ 250.00 - $ 300.00 in great shape .
