Mike. I know you been flying your Rookie for a time now and was just wondering. What do you set your canard deflection up to in relation to the elev. deflection? also. Do you program to have your pitch vectoring to cut off at a high throttle setting? Thanks and happy holidays to ya.
Roy.

The Rookie does not suffer from this, Possibly this is down to the canards coupled to the elevator, it may be possible to retro fit them onto the hotspot.

Pitch vectoring is switched so I can cut it off when I want too, sometimes you want pitch vectoring with high throttle settings especially in those high alpha slow passes to show off. LOL did think of mixing it to the rates so it came on with high rate (playing and 3D) and off with low rate (high speed) but have not got done this yet, but then I want pitch vectoring (not yaw) on take off which is mid rate, decisions decisions.
Compliments of the season to you and yours.

Regardless... a few little dimples beats the heck out of a busted, or missing canopy. The one you sent me looks great !!

RE: Census of Hotspots !!!
Im not quite sure what you mean.
The 2 servos in each wing on mine follow each other, and I use them as elevons.......... I might as well have just installed one servo in each wing, and glue the split surface together.
4 servos give a little redudancy, so you can potentialy save the plane if one of the 4 servos die....you might get lucky, and nurse it home
I bought the rookie second hand, and the previos owners had installed 4 servos.
I would myself if I bought it from new just use 1 servo per wing, and glue the elevons together to save a little weight.
I dont think it would be a good idea to use the inboard surfaces as elevator, and the outboard as ailerons if that was what you where thinking about ?

Nice clean looking jets Bart / Sonnich. I'm kinda jealous...
Curious, I posted how I fastened my wings and fins on a page or two ago. Would you mind showing some details on how you're going to do it? I might be building another and would prefer to find a good alternate that matches the stiffness but with less build effort.
Thx,
Kelly

RE: Census of Hotspots !!!
I'm just following the build instructions from Thorsten Klaus:
The plywood piece bolts to the fuse, the visible part is glued in the wing at a later stage.
I have added a few holes to the fins to bolt them to the fuse if they turn out to be too loose. But the wings and fins are sheeted with 1mm thick Obechi, and appear to be very stiff, I don't see how they can flutter IF they are wedged properly between the wings and fuse.
I am not going to add rudders, no glassing, just some Oracover and that's it. The idea was to keep this bird light.
Regards, Bart.

Yes. Inboard Elev and outboard Ail was what I was referring to and you answered my question. Thanks for doing so. I saw your two servoes in each wing and thought you had cut your surface to run them as separate surfaces. I am gonna put Jr 8711 on each wing so think I will be ok there. Thanks again.

RE: Census of Hotspots !!!
Hey Guys,
I've found an old canopy that I was thinking about making a plug of. A friend is making a vacuum form machine. I thought I punch out a few if there is interest.
I ordered a canopy years ago from Graupner. I finally got it about 6 months later.
