Well, I've had the joy of Birdy here all morning sorting his/my BARF ready for tomorrow. Now have two test flights booked and a refly to do, so might travel light for once.
Looking forward to signing off 2012 with some turbine flying, knowing some of the things coming for 2013, I can't wait for next years season to start. I'm expecting big things of three completely new models due for release, from three different manufacturers.

I would like to welcome the new jet pilots attending classic jets for the first time tomorrow. Hope you all enjoy your day. I'm sure you'll be well impressed by what Dick & Co pull out of the bag again and the quality of jets and flying that is always evident at this meeting.

Looking at the weather, I'm feeling optimistic for tomorrow Good to spend the day checking MY barf out at Dave's having been out of the country for nearly a year. Got a full fuel can, a kagool and no common sense when it comes to standing around in the rain, so looking forward to it.

Well the weather held off, lots of flying done. though for me just a social day out, just couldn't be bothered to get my model out, old age and the cold lol, anyway really enjoyable day took a few pics will upload later, but Dick think you need to vet those attending a little better, anyone else see that fella doing some sort of strange what I can only describe as personal ritual [X(]

think he then realised he was being watched and was not happy [>:]

Once again great effort by Dick and the crew that make this a great event.

Many thanks

Yep, as we set off in rain, I could only think of Dick and his pit crew setting up the tents. Amazing what they achieve in miserable conditions, all for us to have fun! All the test flights went well...even J.F's A-10 was a more pleasant experience than I thought! I only managed two flights with my aeroplanes, seven with other peoples toys, especially enjoyed Bascombe's CARF Viperjet. J.F's twin MW44's even left it to the approach before one flamed out!

Great day in good company

More inc Roland Evan's Graupner Hawk, which we spent some time looking for one of the doors, only to find it tucked up inside the wheel well-least it explained why I couldn't get the gear away! and Ripmax's XCalibur sports jet due first 1/3 in 2013. this one P-60SE powered, can't wait to try one with a P-100RX!!

Even though the weather was flyable all day I only managed 3 flights with the "vintage" Bobcat but I had a great day.

Fleeting visit today, shame I couldn't stay longer but had a date with Princess Jasmine and Widow Twankey.
Will have the Aurora ready to fly at the next big meet.

Like the look of the new Ripmax Twin Boomer. Did see it fly but it certainly looks like its got very good potential. All composite too from what I saw of it.

The 140 in that Hunter certainly should be "adequate" power! Mine has a Wren120 and scoots along very well at just over 1/2 throttle

Wish I could have been over to join the fun, with luck maybe this Spring or Summer.

Yes, was Bandit fast! Jamie found the throttle on later flights.
We would love you to visit us in the summer, might not rain then...no guarantee though

An excellent day with unexpectedly benign weather. Here is a video of the pit area and flight line taken from a different perspective. If you watch it in HD and have good eyesight you might even see a jet or two.Hope you enjoy it.. Andrew

Brilliant Andrew...certainly adds another dimension to the event! Like it!

Back home now after a full-on day that began with an airfield arrival and initial set-up in the rain at 0720 (well, some of us were there then Geoff ), then onto a full day with no rain and nowhere near as much wind as was forecast (I knew going to Church several times of late would help!). Did we get lucky or what?...although I shared Birdy's optimism, I never expected it to be as good as it was!

As ever, I couldn't run the event without my hard core of helpers, and sincere thanks go to them all, as it does to all who defied the pessimists and came along to fly and spectate...t'was a good day, suitably rounded off with a few sherbets in the Black Horse with Flightline Controller Andy Aldridge, Chief 'Fixer' of Everything and long time mate Paul Leighton (Animal), Paul Heckles, Andy Bascombe, Jamie Cuff, Geoff White and Steve Elias.

I took a few ground shots that I'll put up soon but meantime here are before and after pictures of Animal, Jamie and Geoff...

Cheers,

Dick

Andrew - I'm impressed with how stable your photo platform is and how well it coped with the wind! Great video! Enjoyed a cracking day of flying with all the banter with the usual suspects! Good to see everyone again. Thanks again to Dick and his gang of merry men!

Happy New Year to all model jet jocks!

Cheers - Pat
