RE: FEJ Giant Hawk 1:3.5 Scale
Ali, I'll have one waiting here in the states for you when you get here for BITW! James and I agree we need a West coast line up and an East coast line up so we can make the shows without shipping everything back and forth.

Lucky for me I will be living very close to the best show in the east hope some day to make it over to the west coast show. I dont know how you guys do all the shows, maybe when I retire someday I will try and hit everything at least once.

IMHO your retract unit is wrong for the size of the model.
Are you aware of torque? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torque
The length of the leg is way too long ,and the mounting crews are too close to the pivot point.
Sad to see this kind of mistakes but again you are only a few years old manufacture .
From my experience this model will be estimate 45lb? or more? A not so perfect landing will rip them out.
Even trying braking a 30lb model will over stress the wooden mounts because of the length of the leg .And the rear offset trailing link style leg, only makes it worse.
An improvement would be new side retract frames with holes placed further out.

I am always amazed at how this simple factor is overlooked so often, I'm no structural engineer but making the mounting plates much wider on some of these larger retract units will make such a big difference to the stresses gear could withstand - good post.
