The Greater Southwest jet rally is now history, next on my calendar is Lubbock since a change of plans for attending GA jets has occured. Just tone down the weather a bit and all should be fine.

Hey Bob, Looking forward to you being there! Here's a copy of our pdf of hotels that are convenient to our airfield. Its the same page as Warbirds. If you click on our website on the T-38 banner, there's some info and a tab to take you straight to this pdf. www.wingsmas.org is our website and we are also preregistering on the RC Flight Deck website to make things easier for contestants and us. Hope this helps

http://wingsmas.org/uploads/hotel-info.pdf

Thanks again for your club hosting the GSW Jet Rally and Larry taking time to CD it. It's the premier jet rally in this region and I look forward to going to it each year. See you soon.

Had a great time at Waco. Nice field, friendly people and a wonderful shrimp boil. What more could you ask for? A bunch of us from Okla are planning to be at Lubbock. Great to hear that you're going to be there, Bob-O. As Dave said "You are the man" Thanks for letting us share your tent. Doc

Doc
Believe me it was my pleasure having you, Dave, Keith and Don to share the tent with. Hope I didn't scare you too much following me through the Dallas traffic, I was terrified, closed my eyes a couple of times and said a little prayer. Looking forward to Lubbock since I'm not going to Georgia Jets the week before. After Lubbock it's off to CA for Best in the West.

We will be setting up on Thursday afternoon and you're welcome to come in and fly with us. We share the field (A full scale decommissioned airport) with a Dairy Trucking Company who trains its drivers there. They will be shutting down Friday but they stay on the far side of the runway and our section is marked off so they don't interfere with us. Our warbirds meet was the same way and many flew all Thursday afternoon with no problems at all. It will mostly be a Friday and Saturday event with most people packing up and leaving Sunday morning but some of the locals will be flying all day Sunday. The dinner at my house will be on Saturday evening right after flying.

Ok gang, GSW is over and in the history books. We had our club meeting last night to finalize our plans for the meet. Starting to get real excited to see everybody here. Weather right now is soaking (from the hurricane bands moving up from Baja) but should clear out soon. Dinner is arranged for our house Saturday night and our turbine guys are getting their planes primed and prepped!
We will be setting up on the field starting noon on Thursday as many will be arriving then but you can come earlier if desired. We will be giving out a Qt of JetCat turbine oil with each pilot signup (Max of 24 for that) Thanks to John Redman and JetCat USA for that. The registration fee is $25 and will include the dinner for yourself and significant other. Combine the oil and dinner, and it's free!

Our club consists of everything from Falcons & Elans up to Ultra Bandits & Fighter stuff. We are looking forward to seeing you there! Please signup on FlightDeck if able.

Hey Everybody........ I'm really getting excited about our upcoming T38 Jet Rally. I just finished rebuilding my poor mistreated, maligned, and unappreciated Turbinator with new wings and covering. One of the best flying sport jets there is, and I'm really happy to have it back in the air. Attached are photos of the new bird that will be flying in T38 shortly!! Youall come see us, lotsa fun and excitement!!

See you there!!!!!

I am ready for another great event. I lost my brand new jet a few months ago I built for the Waco Jet Rally. But I have my Tornado up and ready to rip the West Texas sky up. I am looking forward to meeting some more new pilots and a whole lot of flying. I am also bringing my EDF great planes evader jet.

We have a fixed overhead shelter much like Waco's but no enclosed shelters. We will have somebody camping there overnight too. We sometimes leave planes under the cover if the night time forecast is perfect but I'd put them in your trailer just to be on the safe side. You never know with west Texas weather.

Got the weather forecast for next weekend. I know it's way out but looks pretty stable. A front comes in on Wednesday night and clears out everything. Highs in mid seventies and lows in mid to high fifties. A lot different than 100 degrees and 80% humidity but very comfortable. I'll update as we have changes. Winds should be light and variable too.

I don't think we could've asked for more perfect weather. Highs in the mid to high 70's and lows in the high 50's with 0% chance of rain the entire meet. Looking forward to seeing everybody there.

Weather tomorrow is for a front to come through with winds hitting 15-20kts at around 6-8am. Highs around 70 tomorrow and warming to 81 by Sunday. Winds dying down to 10-15 by 4pm and switching around to light from the South thru the weekend. Why am I happy? That front came through last year on Saturday and this year, it's hitting before and will be gone by the time we ramp up the flying. Lows near 50 though so bring your jackets for the mornings. Here's a pic of the awards.
