Just came from the field. Flew a flight. Front came through with 25-28mph winds early this morning. Wind is already down to 10-14 down the runway and predicted to be 6-7 in the morning. We'll get out early in the morning. Okies were rolling into town about an hour ago and Bob is already here and setup from Austin. Can't wait to get it going. See you all tomorrow!

I'm the one responsible for all the "mistreated, maligned, unappreciated Turbinator" crap...
...but you did a nice job on it, Les!

Hey Everybody........ I'm really getting excited about our upcoming T38 Jet Rally. I just finished rebuilding my poor mistreated, maligned, and unappreciated Turbinator with new wings and covering. One of the best flying sport jets there is, and I'm really happy to have it back in the air. Attached are photos of the new bird that will be flying in T38 shortly!! Youall come see us, lotsa fun and excitement!!
See you there!!!!!

We are having a great time. This morning at around 8am, it was perfectly calm and we started to think we dodged the bullet. At 11am, a gust front came through and winds to 30kts blew through. Luckily, it was back down to 8-10 soon and flying resumed. Lots of aircraft into the air in the afternoon with many friends catching up on stories. Tomorrow, straight down the runway @ 10kts and clear skies. Really making up for last year. We've got 25 pilots registered with probably 40 planes. We'll post some pics probably Sunday. A fajita dinner at my house tomorrow night to finish it off. Hope everybody who couldn't make it this year will consider this next year on their schedule. We are planning on a resurfacing of our runway very soon too.

It was a great weekend of flying. It's great that so many pilots were able to make it and log lots of flights. Thanks to John for hosting the event as well as the pilot's dinner last night. Here are a few photos from the weekend. I'll post some on the RC Flight Deck event page as well.

Nice Pics! I especially like the pic from mopar man of the F15 on approach.
We had a bit of wind this weekend, but it settled out Saturday afternoon with really nice weather. Thanks to John Johnson and the club for putting on the event - I had a nice time, and want to come back next year! Also thanks for the lunchtime pizza, and Saturday nite fajitas at John's place! I took some pics, but will probably post'em tomorrow.
Nick's Ultra Bandit was ballistic with the P-200... Then again, the Ultra Flashes were doing pretty good also... Thanks for the okie guys coming down, and watching their show. Good seeing Les and his son - the F-4 looks like it flies great! And best luck with Bryan's nice looking new Reaction - it looks great, and put in several eventless flights! I'm working on getting mine ready to go up again right now. You'll have a lot of fun with that model!

The Okie boys had a great time especially Hillbilly Joe (F-15). This was his first event and he had a blast as did we all. Definitely coming back next year and next time I will have my jet. Also next year, I promise not to say a word about the weather to John. Thanks for a great meal Saturday night. See everyone next year! Doc

Finally got home this afternoon after spending a couple of days in Dallas. I had a great time and want to thank the Lubbock crew for hosting the event. Thanks to John Johnson for the feast Saturday nite and Brian McCarty for the providing the pizza for lunch. I'll be back next year for sure.
