Panther maiden and Cof G question
I braved the wind and cold yesterday to maiden my new Fei Bao Panther. The Cof G is 100mm (4") back from the leading edge and it flew on rails with no trim needed and neutral elevator. I was suprised, therefore, when on rolling it inverted, it needed a considerable amount of down elevator to stop it diving to the ground. I am reluctant to move the CofG back as it feels so good other than inverted. Is this a characteristic of this plane?

Do you maybe mean down elevator?

Did you check the incidence of the wing vs the stab? How about the thrust angle of the exhaust pipe?
I suspect with the dihedral and the fact it's not a fully symmetrical wing you will need to hold some down elevator inverted. How much would you call 'considerable'?

I Have a Feibao too! Nice plane!
My CG is set as per mannual and I do need a lot of elevator when inverted I think it's because of the wing design, other than this its a very nice flyer and flys very scale.
What engine are you using? I'm using a P120 SE on mine.
Regards!

I think the answer is there John it's probably the section............My A10 is the same it definitely isn't tail heavy though.

RE: Panther maiden and Cof G question
Its a combination of the section and tailplane position. When its inverted with a slight negative angle of attack the tail is slightly blanked, the big fat fuse and wing root profile effect it too.
The Airworld Panther I fly for RJ is the same. I set that up with 15% more down than up so that the stick position is more balanced.
