I honestly don't know why people keep flogging this one, If you really must re hash it at least do a a major re work. change the fuz so that the inner wings are part of it and incorporate the u/c in the moulding so it can sit on its wheels when not complete, make the booms fit through the wing section and not on top as this will make the outer panels a plug in affair and assembly easier as the fuz/booms/stab could be left in place for storage/transportation.If these changes were implemented and good quality control implemented then you really could be on to a winner. The original is a good flyer,I had one with a 120 edf on 12 cells and it went well but was fragile and unless the landing was a greaser on tarmac the uc mountings would give up.The general construction was poor and not glued in many locations which was a pity.
I am not saying that the construction is the same on the ''Kestrel'' but it is from the same factory.
Then it would be a Boomerang and it would cost Boomerang price's, keep watching and I will let everyone know if the construction is up to scratch compared to the original, but as I said at the beginning it is a quantum step forward from the Falcon by what I have seen so far.

hi ian
in the UK i presume you have a goverment tax on sales
as we do in australia which unfortunatly bumps up the
end sale price. in oz we have a 10% sales tax.plus
when i import from chinawe also have in import tax
another 10%. which makes the models dearer again.
some people on this forum need to realise these things
before calling retaliers shrills and rip off merchants

Absolutely could not agree more!!! This is exactly why, although I would LOVE to have one of these, I have yet to get one. It is just too much of a royal PITA to break this jet down (as one can with a Boomer.)

Sad, because aesthetically the Tornado/Kestrel/Falcon120, et al, are much nicer looking IMHO than the Boomers (perhaps with the exception of the Elan )

Takes me 5 minutes to put the model together. Just takes practice

1. Put both wings into position, connect servo leads and air lines,, hand tighten bolts then nip up with 6mm ball link. Bottom hatch fitted with hinges and hatch latch
2. Place boom assembly on top of wing supported by a helper or a stand, tighten, connect leads, tighten 4 bolts.

Go fly

Quite simple really

tips,

Use the boom clamped to the front boom bolts with the carbon spar inserted into the main spar, to lock up the booms for trtransport screw.

Screw the wing bolts into the wings so they don't get left at home

I threaded my bolts from the inside of the wing and use butterfly nuts, push a spin and the wing is locked, takes a minute

YES!!! That's it!

Now, I do appreciate the info given a few posts prior. The wing-nut solution is a great idea, and I can see where that makes assembly/disassembly easier.

On my original Falcon, I put the T nuts in the fus and had bolts inside the wing, a tube from the underside of the wing allowed an allen wrench to be inserted to do it up, this was retained with a lock nut recessed into the root rib, makes assembly even easier.

That moulded fuzz was on the threads about a year ago. How's the development going? Any further pictures?

Ian why do you keep erasing my post's why do you hide we're you get the planes? Why do you hide what they really cost? Anybody interested contact Fly Model World at [email protected] you can order the plane directly there for very cheap. They ship world wide. You can contact Maggie which is the sales person at+86 130-1634-1881

I don't know why the moderators keep erasing this. You are promoting price gouging if you do. All hobby shops and people in the UK can buy them there for under £262 or $399

fly model world are wholesalers only. please dont forget that another retailer
said his models were made in south america i think. which was not an honest
statement when in fact the models came straight out of china. my falcon models
come from china as do modellbau uk,s in regards to priceing if you dont like the
price on offer go buy some where else.

Fly Model will sell directly to the customer. They are both wholesaler and retailer. They will do what ever they want as long as they get there money. Modellbau USA did say that the latest V3 was made in china which has no baring on this conversation. What does matter is the fact that Ian keeps on trying to hide from we're he is buying so they don't find out how much he is gouging. I agree with the others he has no buisnes trying to steel from us. So what you are saying is that if a turbine newbie which does not know any better and goes to Ian and he ripped them off its ok? If you think that's ok your crazy

Ian has no power to delete anyone's post, but the moderators will delete anything that is not in accordance with RCU rules, so in effect you are deleting your own posts.

The Kestrel is not on the market yet.

Cmon guys no personal attacks. The mods WILL delete them. If you keep doing it you WILL go on MS which means you go stand on the naughty step AND we mods check each and every post you make BEFORE they appear.

I have just spent some time cleaning up this thread.

You are more than welcome to post factual information but please resist the temptation to have a go at someone.

No price has been posted for the Kestrel as it had not reached our shores yet, the final cost can not be determined until, VAT, Customs and Excise and handling charges are known.

I have started on the tail booms and will post once its complete, this will prevent interruptions of the build flow and I think make easier reading, I aim to do this with each section of the build, what do you think?

Yes mike better idea, I always do the same, get one area finished before I post it. Different if looking for ideas of how to do it, then would post mid build.
