Are there any good stories on Fej
Ok I have to ask..I have been following all the bad about fej and I understand why some people are upset with what has happened with there jets that have bought from fej I would like to if there are good stories?
The reason for the pole is to see if it is just if there are more bad stories than good?

RE: Are there any good stories on Fej
My fej 1/7th L39 is 3 years old now. Eventhough I had to de-engineer several areas to have the plane up to my standards, it flies great and I like it.
Total price after the mods ended up higher than fej price of course, but at that time fej products were much cheaper than what they are now.

Fej should no longer add their products as ARF, as so much work is involved to get their products safe and airworthy.
Other than that and given you know you have to spend a lot of time to put them together, they are great products.

How can you say that they are great products after stating lots of work is required to get what is sold as an ARF safe and airworthy? A bit contradictory I think?
Sounds more like a crappy product to me, a well made ARF should be quick and easy to put together, and should be safe and sound without having to do any modifications.

The mig is fine. I let someone fly it and he came in to slow and stalled the jet, lhad a hard landing, broke landing gear. will be flying this summer.

Very happy with my fej jet 10% (11)
Ok with what I have 8% (9)
Understand you get what you pay for 9% (10)
Lots of problems but fej help corrected them 1% (2)
Fej is just about them same as everyone else that sell from china 0% (0)
Fej ripped me off by selling me damaged goods 1% (2)
Fej told me too bad it was my fault 4% (5)
I have not bought and will not due to the history of fej 63% (67)
Total Votes : 106
[Edit Poll]
This is getting very interesting...
If you notice 63% of the vote so far will not buy but yet they have not own one in the past....That is 67 out of a 106 votes so far...but notice on 7 out of the 106 that own them have either felt ripped off or not got any support.
The other 30 votes seem to be ok with FEJ or atleast understand what they have purchased.
So if this was based on just owners that are responding it would look a lot different.

People in common usually seldom admit they regret a purchase, cause then they will also admit they made a poor decision. This poll will probably not give the right picture, but fun to see the results anyway.

Pondus,
I think they are good products because the plane flies great. The issue is that is takes time to get to that point.
They are not that way right out of the box. You can be very happy if you are ready to invest more time than money.
This is why ARF cannot stand for this brand.

RE: Are there any good stories on Fej
As I was telling someone else a bit ago, my experience with FEJ was very early in their history. I had a 1/9.5 F-15 and a 1/9th Rafale.
My F-15 flew well and I didn't have flutter problems, but the fuel tanks and landing gear leaked like a sieve. The structure was also very weak and needed a lot of beefing up. The main gear was also too close together and thus the ground handling was so bad, it wasn't possible to even get it off the ground 9 times out of 10. I made a lot of modifications over the course of the first 2 years I had it and eventually got it to fly well, but the maintenance was never-ending. At first James send me replacement parts for the landing gear, etc., but they were just as bad as the originals. I made a list of suggested changes to get the plane to be better, but eventually the response I got back was "the factory says its OK and won't change it." That was what really griped my cookies...
The wings started coming apart as soon as I got the plane and eventually, I could no longer pick it up by the inner wing area (like everybody with this size F-15 does) because of the wing delamination. I damaged the wings further in a landing accident (my fault), and James sent me a new set of wings for the cost of shipping only. This was 4 years later perhaps, and the new wings were *much* stronger and actually had carbon fiber in them. The gear and tanks still leaked at that point though... I eventually rebuilt the plane, painted it, and sold it.
I still have the Rafale. It was originally an EDF (which FEJ advertized that it could be), but it sucked with that power (or didn't suck - the intakes are too small). We converted it to P-60 power and it flys well, but we keep the speed down because the rudder will flutter if you don't...

RE: Are there any good stories on Fej
I think this will be pertinent: Some time ago I met a friend of mine on the supposed maiden flight day of his big FEJ J-10, wich was beautiful painted and powered by a P200.
He told me that he was concerned about the wing rigidity near the tips, then I showed him on my smartphone that J-10 video of Kentucky jets in wich it looses half of it wings and flat spins to the ground.
Don´t need to say that maiden was postponed, and after reinforcements in this area this plane flew about a dozen times without problems so far.

And this is why things that go fast should be rigid...ok these are extreme speeds, but our jets aren´t slow at all ..
Hope that all manufacturers or anyone thinking in building a jet see this video, considering that this fins are rigidly attached to the fuselage and are very strong and rigid.

The only thing I like about the ONE FEJ airplane I bought, is that it is pretty to look at.

Yeah you should have a "I bought one and now regretting it option...."

Just saw this on the FEJ website...
Elevator Installation
"All the F14 owners please take some time and make sure your Elevator is built like the manual instructions. Here are some photos of it, please make sure that all the bolts are in, Thanks"
We deeply feel sorry about the F14 wend down in California. We have put the jet model safety on top priority in these years and have spared effort to study advanced technology. We do feel very sorry for the F14 crash, which currently posed danger and threat to our factory. As to such side effects, our factory will never and ever accept anyone who gained personal benefits by means of threat. We sincerely accept all the suggestions and advices from you and would like to show our willingness to assist the clients who need our help. The case is under examine and inspection, will help the client to find the answer and re-build one.
