The F-117 has a P160 in it. The exhaust pipe has a significant loss of power with it. It is a scale exhaust and can't be helped. The airframe was easy to track in the air, even black. They all get black when they get out aways on a cloudy day..... in Pa it is cloudy alot, so we learn to fly the goustly looking figures in the distance.
- Am looking forward to the next flight possibly this weekend. This time I might be able to evaluate what it needs better than the Maiden. The goal of the maiden was to get it up.... see how it handles, and get it down.
- The airplane is owned by Mr Rick Daubert. We did the build last winter. The build was not easy because of all the "questionables".
- The Questionably Un-Flyable "Woblin Goblin" F117 ..... Really Does FLY !!
Hopefully, it will fly at Jets Over Kentucky this summer.
I'll post more as the airplane teaches us more!

Forgot if it was the Titan SE or 160SX, either way it looks fast! Good luck with it!

Nicely done guys, good to see someone still toying with the 117!
Might be good subject for the PowerBox iGyro, lots of really useful features for a plane like this. Would allow you to shift the CG aft and get the landings slowed way down too...

Congratulations to Jack. Cold winters and trees make you a good builder and good pilot. It's hard to be either one in California.

Congrat Jack. Very nice.

We have 3 pre-series models in stock. They have the internal formers not matching the outer skin perfectly and "prototype" wood quality ( lower quality than our regular UAV plywood made from aero grade Finnish birch ).
These are available for sale at a discounted price but I will not make a web page for these 3 kits since they do not represent the quality of regular production models from AD.

The proper production kits will be available on reservation from September with delivery before Christmas.
Please send us an email or call us a the shop if you are interested.

Kit F117 - RC Jets models - Aviation Design
The F117 stealth Fighter is one of the most original jet form the 80 / 90's. It has been th Star of "Desert Storm" operation and Gulf War. It was the fisrt stealth jet and its design was very unique.
For the first time in jet model, Aviation Design now produce this incredible fighter in prebuilt model.
The stealth fuselage with special shape is exactly produced with facets and all panel lines and stealth hatches are engraved or in relief.
Redesigned from our original small ducted fan F117 kit, we improved a lot our model with more details, bigger size and designed for single turbine use.
The F-117 is surprisingly very easy to fly. It is very stable without gyro and has gentle stall characteristics.
The F117 comes to you finished, fully molded in composite material and black painted with panel lines engraved. All bulkeads are glued.
This model has plug in wings and rudders for an easier assembling and transport.
All necessary hardware are included in the kit with aluminium control horns, stab mountings, hatch latches, screws...
The big fuselage hatch gives a good access to the radio, batteries, engine equipment, fel tanks, pump and to the bifurcated tailpipe specially designed for this model.
F-117 MODEL KIT INCLUDES :
• High quality epoxy-glass fuselage black painted;
• All plywood and wood parts premounted;
• Aluminium honeycomb inlets;
• Epoxy-glass canopy frame requiring no work;
• Access hatch requiring no additional framework;
• Fully molded wings and fins painted;
• ABS cockpit interior;
• All hardware (ball links, bearings, screws...);
• Instructions in English.

Default RE: Aviation Design F117 Flys in the USA

I am sad to say and report that the F-117 lives no more. It was dialed in and flying great. It had a catastophic loss of elevator control in flight. I lost pitch control and it went in on a parabolic downward path. I did have aileron control for a short time as I know I tried to roll pull and turn, it did not respond to the pull. It did not roll, just a progressive down. Perplexing because elevator is a mixed function and not a single surface control. This kind of leaves out any mechanical failure in my mind. A mechanical failure or linkage failure would result in a roll action with any elevator command. There is not any evidence of a radio failure. I have a theory, but no evidence to support any specific thing. The vidio didn't capture the section of lost control. It definitely was a stable airframe and not an uncontrolable monster. The only downside to the kit is the pipe. The mfg is upfront about the power loss through it though, stated about 25% loss. My experiance says that loss # is about right. If you are further interested give me a call.
Ps: We are trying to obtain another one.

Thanks Tim,
FYI: I do believe I bought a first run JL F-15 Kit from you a while back...... its been through several owners and still flying great. Pics are in my gallery and it is on an SKS vidio for Fla Jets, about 5 yrs back.

Thanks Oli,
We have been trying to get ahold of Eric for another kit, but can not seem to connect from USA.
We would appreciate some help with that if you can.
