As soon as we receive it, I will make some pictures of the internals and create a product page on our web site.
The production will slowly ramp up from the beginning of next year.
Pricing will be 2299 USD ex shipping for the kit and 899 USD for the Behotec pneumatic gear set.
I will make a specific thread about this plane in a few days from now when I have some nice pictures.

Our MIL spec loom has become a popular option on this plane. Her is a link to the product:
http://www.ultimate-jets.net/collect...-mil-spec-loom
We also offer a P&P version of the plane now, with assembly slot reservation as this option is quite popular as well.

Guys love the looks of the scorpion. I am thinking a jc cheetah sp needs a home. How is the stall characteristics? Any bad habbits? The cheetah is a very light turbine and puts out 33 to 34lbs of thrust. Would this be ok? Will the structure hold together on a full throttle pass?
oli have any in stock?

Hi Noah.
We have all the colors in stock at the moment and we are carrying a specials on this kit.
A customer just sent us a picture of his Blue Angels version that looks really good:
The stall characteristics on this plane is very gentle. The plane just sinks flat without any nose or wing tip drop.
The users will certainly chime in here to confirm this if required.
Our Scorpion feature unique options:
A specific stabilizer alignment tray
High modulus carbon fiber servo covers
Electric speed brake
Full carbon fiber bypass ( coming soon )
A complete set of professional documentation including: a complete builder's manual with operational speeds, stabilizer design white paper, flight controls computation sheet, advanced setup manual.
We've had people fitting 34 lbs engines in the Mk I Scorpion before. The airframe handles it, however you'll be faced with one major problem: limited fuel endurance. The fuel tank it sitting in front of the intake ducts and would only allow you to fly for 3 to 4 minutes maximum. As Mort says, I'd recommend the Super Scorpion for a 34 lb engine. It is designed for this.
Note that I have just released version 3 of the user manual:

This airframe creates a lot of drag! I have a version 1 with a behotec jb220 turned down to 113,000rpm from 123,000rpm which would be about 38lbs looking at the thrust/rpm graph from the rcji test, all up weight is about 35 lbs with a full tank. I am using a fuel tank from http://jettechusa.com/products/aviat...-jet-fuel-tank which is just over 4 litres but also comes in a split version for fuel/smoke. Your cheetah will push it well enough to be fast (mine does about 180-190mph) and fun, this tank will give you over 10 mins at 4 + litres, since I get about 8 mins of hard flying and still have about a 1/4 tank left. I fly this plane hard and it takes a beating even with mine at the weight it is and the power it has! I have had this airframe since 2006 and it has been painted twice, on its third engine (stepped up in power each time) and third pipe.
It does drop a wing if you pull too hard on the elevator in a slow maneuver which isn't something you'd normally do. With flaps at full deploy keep your speed down as the flaps blank out the elevator and you will find yourself pulling up more and more with no reaction until it slows down.
I love this airplane and would most likely have another when this one is gone!

Guys need opinion. I have a jet central cheetah. Its the only one i have. Some are saying turbine is too large for this jet. I can carry a little over 3 liters and that will give me about 5 to 6 min of flight. At least it did when i had a dv8r
Opinions on this turbine would be appreciated. The turbine is right at 3/4lb heavier than a 100 size turbine. Everything else weighs the same. I would have a little more fuel on board so take off would be another 1.7 lbs so about 2.5 or so total more on take off vs 100 size. What do you guys think?

Anyone know if there were any major airframe changes between Mk1 and Mk2 that would affect the recommended CG? I just picked up an older a MKI. The previous owner bought it used from out of state, never flew it and it sat for at least 8 years. Someone else in the club bought it, updated everything then found another project that he wanted more and sold it to me before flying it, so nobody here has seen it fly. In researching the plane I've discovered that between the 2006 and 2015 versions of the manual the CG has gone from 138mm to 155mm. Anyone flying a MkI at the new CG?

I flew my MK1 for several years and sold it 2 years ago. It is still flying today. I flew it on a K-180 and K-210 with no problems. I don't remember the numbers but with fuel tank empty it would sit on the tail. I set the CG on the aft edge of the main gear struts so just the trailing link was behind the CG. It had Behotec C-50 gear. I flew 7 min with reserve in main tank. I had a 40 oz Dubro smoke tank above and aft of the main tank. In my research the biggest issue was people flying way too nose heavy. It was really fun and had a distinctive sound when flying by. I did not fly it really fast but it looked fast just sitting on the ground. Good luck with yours. Post a pic.

Hey,
I have the Scorpion MK1, (not Super Scorpion).
No differences between the two version, just another factory, and better finish. I'm in the process of re-finishing mine (From swiss version to the new Orange, with some interpretation)
Mine is balanced right BEHIND the main struts with empty tank and full UAT (which sits right in front of the main tank)
Indeed, as stated above, with an empty tank, and tipped back, it sits on its tail. flies like a marvel this way. Just keep in some up-elevator till it pick up enough speed, and don't forget the flaps, when extended full, block some of the elevator, so do keep enough up throw for a smooth landing.
