My new new Airworld F-100.
When my last Airworld F-100 ( Dirty Doris ) sold a few years ago at Jet power, I was left feeling a bit disappointed as I never really got much of a chance to play with it. In fact. I never got to fly it with the Dan Gill ( Details for scale ) supplied ordinance and pylons.
So when the chance came up to get another one, and have it built by master builder Trond Hammerstad in Norway. I jumped at the opportunity. Once again I found myself a bit bored with all of the scale schemes out there. They had either all been done, or not to my liking. So once again, I went the route of picking a colour scheme that I liked and adapting it to suit the model. I like to try and keep them believable so I went with the Luftwaffe scheme as they seemed to use the early US fighters such as F-86's and F104's... Just not F- 100's so I thought why not??
Trond teamed up with Ralle from Tailormade and did an amazing job of producing exactly what I was wanting. I really am over the moon with the way it looks, and since I own a Trond built model already ( Airworld English Electric Lightning ) I just know it will be built well and super practical to operate. The only bummer is that I have to wait another month until I head out to the Fyrdesal jet meet in Norway to fly it. Still. It gives me a month to drool over the photos.
Instead of uploading all the photos. I am going to try posting a link to a fbook page and see if that works ok for you guys to see the pics. If not I will go pack to the old way of uploading to Photo bucket. For now try this.....

Nice choice Ali. I have thought the same thing about how a post war German "Hun" would look so perfect and I had always thought it would have been one that they had if it weren't for the NATO forces doing most of the heavy lifting for fighter bomber work at that time frame. I'm finishing a smaller EDF F-100 this summer and if it weren't for reading a book about the Misty pilots a few months ago (Bury Us Upside Down) - I was also heavily considering a "what if" scheme but now I'm back to SEA colors!
Your colors look fantastic and right at home on a Hun. Great mixture of high visibility for obvious reasons and the emotional response camouflage gives!

Love it! Looks totally realistic. Nice work on the hot section the effect is great.
Speaking of fantasy schemes for scale planes here is a link to a blog for a guy that makes plastic models and profiles of planes.

Some pretty fresh, interesting and cool looking jets on here.

Although IMO the F-100 is the best looking scale jet I'm not normally a lover of camo schemes but that one really does look the nuts.
My AW F-100 will be back from being painted and having flightmetal applied at the end of the month so like you I'm really looking forward to flying it.

Hi Al, an anecdote........... sorry. We (RAF) used to play the yanks at football, SOCCER!!!, and I was at USAF base Hahn in Germany during an airshow and the Thunderbirds F100s, started their display approaching from behind the crowd at about mach .85 and lighting their reheat as they passed over the crowd. It was the first time I had wet my pants since I was a baby. A few times since (old age) A fabulous plane. I look forward hopefully to seeing you fly it. Any ex USAF Hahn people out there? Ron.
Apologies for the digression

I am just heading back from one of the best jet meets I have been to. Jetpower Norway at Fyresdal has been so so memorable. Partly due to the fact I got to collect and fly my F-100. If only all builds could turn out like this. The model is even more impressive in real life. The finish and fit out is perfect and best of all practical! Setting it up on my radio was a breeze as Trond the builder had been so methodical. The first flight went without a hitch and from there on, I proceed to fly the snot out of it all weekend long without a tool going near it! I really could not have wished for better!
Some more photos are here, and I am sure there will be some flying shots and video coming soon. I will update my page as they come in, and I am sure they will be waiting for as there were some top draw camera men with some serious equipment on site!

Here is a video of Thomas and I flying the Super Schntizel and Station wagon in a loose formation. We could do with a load more practice to make it look good, but it was allot of fun none the less!

If he can take photos as good as these, I am sure Lars could photoshop the lead strips out of these photos.
