Hi

I am flying mine but with many problems, like leaking cilinders, rear gear bockage, soft materials, etc. I asked for the upgrade gear kit, but still it's not available

Just curious if there are any updates on this kit?

Hi all,

i flown mine now 16 times with the EDF Setup and had no more problems with the maingear since i removed the 2 small air cylindery like i wrote before.
The front gear was also after the upgrade no complete sucess to me so i changed to a normal retract unit from my old 1/8 F16 and this works well.
Attached is a video from our local Grasstrip where i fly from, so you can see, the gear holds up this stress for now.
The next will be a back converting to a Kingtech K140 G Turbine, the AUW from the EDF version was 13,7 kg wet.
So let´s see how this combination would work.

Looks good. I have a friend flying his with a 90 and it goes quite well. We think a 120 would be about perfect for this plane. 140 will be a rocket.

Hello Gents,

thank you,
well, i think with the K140 i can fly the F16 scale like
and if it´s really to much still had the option to lower the RPM

Looks great! I'm still very jealous that I cannot get this airframe in the USA. It's the perfect size. Maybe I'll call
BVM tomorrow and see if there are any updates on it.

Have you tried buying directly from Anton?

Hi

I am still flying mine with a P100. My opinion is that a 140 is too much in weight and power. Just my opinion :-)

Riebl - Nice flying. what happens if you give a small push in the nose of the plane if there are not locking cilinders? Will it hold his feet?

I asked for the upgrade in JP fair and there are no news. I have now several hand made parts to keep the gear working. If there are news please let me know

Hi Nuno,

thank you,
i find that the F16 now has the right Power, didn´t use full throttle to much.
There is no problem when i push back the plane with the main gears if enough air is in.

What hand made parts do you have? What is wrong with the original gear cylinders?

Hi

The problem is not in the cilinders, They don't leak. It is in the materials that are too soft to cope with gear forces

I replaced thte main pin in the front cilinder that was made out of a 6mm soft steel shaft. I replaced it by a hard steel king pin.

Then because the pin was hard enough not to bend the trunion screws ripped the threads. I am now waiting for a 7075 alu trunion. Also the locking cilinders in the rear are a pia. There should be activated by a sequencer. Some times they prevent the gear to retract. Riebl as removed them but if there is not enough air, the plane will fall on his knees

I am also looking for a way to replace the cardan shaft from the front gear. It is very sloppy inducing lack of precision in the front wheel

Those are the major problemas with the gear. Tires are also very soft

My assumption is that this gear is made by a lower quality subcontractor. I had already asked John and Anton several times by gear upgrades with no sucess and belly landings are always expecting their chance
These are not made by Airpower

Riebl- I also noticed that your gear doors open in flight. I guess you have the original cilinders, right?

Jetnuno thanks for the information, I really want to order this kit, but I do not want to deal with the headaches of gear problems.

Great flying Reinhard!! Your loving that K140

Passagealanglaise the 100 would fly it ok but a 140 would be more fun.

A local pilot flys his on a K100 and this is plenty for his routine, including 3D flying.
the difference between K100 and K140 as far as turbine weight and fuel consumption in my opinion is a big factor to consider.
