Yeah, Im just not willing to put that much into a sport type jet. I think the 50 pounds will be okay without smoke oil in the tanks, im looking to take advantage of some high alpha slow passes and a few other things while maintaining a good top speed. I have a 14 to build as well soon as well. Any word on your BF300 pipe/vector pipe yet?

Jeff T. said they have built the pipe, I asked to verify that they have tested it and made sure it is working properly, certainly don't want to be the geniue pig on something this big and expensive.

I honestly rotate at around 40 feet and climb out at a 45 deg angle.

I fly fly at about half throttle with main tank only. Land after 6 min with a little under half tank left

That's good info, I always build my stuff super light using the best weight saving techniques I can think of. I normally come up about 3 lbs less than stock weight, I try not to add all the bling just use my standard setup on every thing I build. Im looking forward to not having to worry about flight time with this jet. Thanks again

This will give you an idea about power to weight ratio for hovering. Plane weighs 28 pounds and has a Jet 180

have they done the tests with a b300f?, A 50Lb turbine and a 72 lbs turbine is a big difference.

Yes, Seba has been flying the XL with the B300F and thrust vectoring (using a pipe from another manufacturer) with the same success as the Avanti S 2.0m/79" and 180-250 turbines. Here's a quick video of him down low with it and some additional info below (plus he'll be sending us more details and better video soon):

Thanks Anton,

Some more pictures. A really outstanding model with outstanding flying characteristics. Very well designed as we have come accustom to be Sebart! What would an Italian design be with out Ferrari.....

Did I notice from pics that the flaps are hinged with robart hinges? Is everything else live hinged. Rudder looked to be pin hinged in one pic.....

Hi Jeff,

You must have the early version. All Avanti XXL have no live hinges. All hinges are wired. Long piano wire that ca be pulled out to remove flying surfaces....

Yes. I do have the early version. I knew they where moving to all wire hinge as my rudder is that way. But was unclear that this had been done. Thanks for the update Morne.

As for flying. I have about 50 flights on it so far. It's one of the best flying jets Iv ever flown.
Slow flight is superb and the slow knife edge figure 8's are a blast!!!!

I use the main tank only and fly for 6 min with just under half tank left.
This is with an evojet 220.
