IF the plane was offered without gear, then your best bet by far is to buy this: http://www.airtech-germany.de/epages...ucts/1001-10-e 100% guarenteed to work on the shockwave and is drop fit.

All made by ERWIN from Airtech using components he has been designing and selling.

believe what you will, i'm sure your Ego is too big to accept this and you will keep saying it was specially built for the shockwave
Btw sir Aurora uses 110mm wheels and Sw 100mm. Nose gear retracts in oppisite direction. Drop in fit huh? Come on keep them coming. You are to funny. Please dont report me for calling you funny I know thats an insult...

Sorry, but i would like to ask three more questions 1 Are these kits painted in the molds and if so are their any seams?
2 Can the planes have a paint change to the bottom of the wings and horizontal stabs?
3 If you can do the paint change on the bottom of the wings how much extra would it cost?
( i'm thinking just metallic silver with checkerboard on the tips of the stabs and wings)

Melvin,

1) KIts are in fact painted in the mold and have no seams.
2) You can do color flips on any of our schemes.
3) Please email Scott or Pablo with the specific changes you would like to make and you will get a price.

Thanks,

Michael

On a serious note & to clear up some confusion - I am the guy who installed Behotec C50F electric gear in my Shockwave. I've had great luck with Behotec air gear and been flying larger jets off grass with their compression struts for years without any issue. When I got my first Shockwave I was hesitant about the extension spring Airtech units so I went with my Behotec plan. All that did was create more work and headache for me. Behotec's are NOT a direct drop in fit. I did the research and ordered what I needed thru Peter at Altecare. Shortly after placing my order I found it posted on their website as a package deal. I am not bashing Peter and he is excellent to deal with but it needs to be noted it is NOT a drop in fit as some may think. Fitting the mains is not a big deal, but the nose has some issues. FYI, I have another Shockwave coming and it will use the stock Airtech's as designed for this jet.

Here is my story & pics to help educate some of you...

Main gear - 200mm is the longest strut Behotec makes for this application. The strut upper body has the 8mm pin hole offset. As delivered the thick side would be on the outboard side in the Shockwave and prevent the strut door from being flush with the wing. This was simply fixed by swapping the lower strut arms to make the thinner side of the upper body be the outboard side. I needed to drill and tap the upper body to attach the door. That was really all I needed for the Behotec mains to fit.

Nose gear - The longest trailing nose strut from Behotec is 216mm. The retract fit right in with no mods but after attaching the strut I found the nose wheel hanging outside the fuselage due to the forward rotation. What I didn't realize until this point was how the Airtech trunion strut attachment is different from standard retracts. The Airtech strut attachment is offset and with gear up it moves the strut leg above the retract thus pulling the trailing wheel inside the fuselage. So to get my Behotec nose to fit right I had a few options - shim the mount plate to kick the wheel up, try a 105 deg trunion or straighten out my trailing strut. During fit tests I noticed the jet sat a little nose down so I thought straightening nose strut would be the easiest and solve both problems. I made a longer plunger for the strut but this obviously made the strut longer which required the nose door opening to be longer. With the nose gear bolted in I fit tested the door. Due to the curve in the fuselage I was having a hard time figuring out hinging with smooth operation. I tried offset hinges and a few other methods before I decided to split the door. Instead of 2 actuators or servos I made a sliding interlocking tab so both doors can be operated by one servo. It works, but involved more thinking and trouble than it was worth in my opinion.

A lot of things have changed in the last year with our Landing Gear. We never stop improving. I guess this is a great opportunity to officially announce them.
We have a new main frame that is a one piece frame from billet aluminum. no more moving parts called "Block" cnc from a block of billet aluminum
We have a new cylinder design feature. cylinders are now easily serviceable with new design
Nose gear now come with XXL cylinder with new cylinder feature.
We have a new strut design that now allow for wheel to face out. This allows for a very sharp install. see pic. improves look and function. offset strut with upgraded spring
We have another strut design currently in the works. coming soon.
We have a new wheel design. A 3 piece wheel. This is very high quality wheel.
We now offer electric gear for the Shockwave. electric gear do not require an ECU. plug and play. only one I know of with this feature.
We now offer landing gear options that were not previously available.
We now offer Hammer Engines landing gear made especially for the Shockwave. Bespoke Shockwave.
Only available from Elite Aerosports!! ;-)
See pics.

So in the end I made my Behotec's work as more of an exercise for myself but would not do it again. I already have another Shockwave coming and will not deviate on the gear this time. Elite Aerosports product improvements continue to make the Shockwave the best sport jet on the market.

Scott,

It sounds like you guys are doing good things! Will you have electric brakes to compliment the gear?

Scott, Pablo and Mike I.E. Elite Aerosports crew,

I have been flying jets for a couple of years now. I dont claim know a lot about jets, but the knowledge in which I have gained from hanging around the guys listed above has been second to none. I have bought and flown three different jets which Elite Aerosports carry. ( Pirotti, Aurora, Shockwave) All have been outstanding quality and design. If they can with stand my carrier landings, then they can with stand anything you put their planes through. I have no stake in company, but rest assure anyone who buys from this company WILL NOT be making a bad mistake on their purchase. Thats all that to be said about that.

Just came across this new model.
Looks like bvm quality, but the plane is just too damn big. They need to shrink length by 2 feet atleast and then proportionally everything else.

No they aren't, they are are really good size. If you want a 2M size model, there are plenty of other options available.
