G-Day Dave! looking good buddy!
Quick question...How are you planning on getting all 4 wing bolts in and out with the tank in the way? (keep removing the tank?)
I went to an extreme design to be able to get all 4 wing bolts in without having to move the tank ..but did move the Rudder servo so i could drop the tank all the way down so I could get my hand under the spar tube to get to the rear wing bolt...minor adjustment as I have all the cad/cam at home so few mouse clicks and it was done...Smoke you say....Hmmmm I used a pillow bladder made from a drink in the uk for one before..Me thinks me better do it again! can easily shove that under the main tank no worries, also ive placed my fluids in the middle of the CG so no trim required as it flows out, Im going with the Turbine guys discovered 50mm sweet spot..so we see how that turns out in actuall flying air
here is the rudder working....If I flap it fast enough i could get it to self launch!
hehehehe

Only using the front pair, I have painted the wing spar with finishing resin to get a good fit. Stevie is flying one already with this install and its been fine. As we are flying formation I have a very similar layout to him. He even designed the turbine mount once we decided how it would be done. Its 5mm Carbon ply Carbon
Will post more pixs later, I'm picking at it between work today

I went 30mm-tanks with a little fuel/smoke (they are both behind the balance) so fully fuelled it maybe 45mm. For sure 20mm is nose heavy!
1.8ltr (or US 60oz anyway) 24oz main smoke and 12oz smoke hopper in the nose. 2oz MAP hopper tank for turbine. Smoke pump and fuel pump in nose, 3 x 5000 2s Li-Po packs It looks like 400g lead only!

Hi Dave, flying mine with front screws only, no issues, recommend air brake, and CG back around 50mm. I'm using a KingTech 60 . And a Cortex....love it !,
Do you know if anyone is doing scale details for the CARF. J-10

Just back from a long day at the field practicing with the two Blaniks. I have around 10 flights on mine now, love it! We have smoke and airbrakes and flying formation is easier as you can "slam on the brakes" if you are ahead.
I'm using the smoke tank hopper as part of my nose weight and can say I'm flying quite a range depending on fuel and smoke useage. Maybe 40-60mm back and its still nice!
Here is my tip wire skid mod. works well for hands free takeoffs
Dave
Here is our turbine mount. Single 4mm carbon blade, slot fuselage top, for lug, glue to fuse top and wing tube. We then have a cross brace running across the rear and a flat plate to take the tank.
I took my services through the top windows as the fuse is already minimal around there.
