Greg,
Dont hold back, tell us how you really feel. I love mine too. But I'm not so naive to believe a bad one gets out on the rare occasion.

Don't get me wrong - it's a great radio to programme & use, but wouldn't you be p****d off if your new radio had gone back even once for repair, let alone twice??

Another up-date - Horizon UK sent me a new replacement DX18!
Lets hope this is a better experience!

I have a DX18 QQ version and I just noticed that on all of my models including new models, when I move the throttle up and down I noticed the ailerons also moved. I have no mix with throttle to ailerons on any of my models. All of my models on memory have this problem. Looks like the mixed is done internally whether you wanted it or not. Looks like there is a bug in the firmware. You can check by go to the monitor function and look at the aileron channel when moving the throttle stick. It changes between -10 to +10. No wonder why I couldn't trim my jet.
Also, another bug is I tried to mixed the rudder to Aux2 where Aux2 is my nose gear steering and the radio wouldn't let me. I had aux2 on the right lever. I then assigned it to the left lever but it didn't allows me to mix either. I then assigned it to the right knob then it works. I then assigned it again to the right lever and this time it works. Again, there is another firmware bug.
Could someone check and confirm problem 1.
Thanks

Hi Guy's I just purchased a DX-18 radio. I have a question Has anyone used a JR1221X RX receiver with a DX-18? I'm building a Meister P-47 and have the 1221 RX in it and want to bind it to
the DX-18. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and what issues they encountered? If any. John T.

John, Be aware I have the DX18 Gen2 and its a 10 channel radio. If you use a 12 channel receiver you need to purchase an x- plus 8 module. Then Aux 6&7 can be used. (page 11& 12 in the Manual).

DOC, that is not correct. You just have to activate xplus, then you will have aux 6 & 7 on the 12120 rx 12 CH RX.

Thread up...
Today I brought my DX18 G2 (EU version) alive.
Bound it to a model and went fly with no range test (stupid....). The model took off and started a left curve with no controls anymore... Crashed a hundred meters away...
It was a model/setup I was flying for 2 years with a 12X with no singer issue. Rx AR7000.
After the crash, of course, a lots of tests and I became surprise how weak was the signal. No range test passed with a receiver resting over a table in the mid of the runaway. Antenna fades in an order of 8000.
More tests, hold the top antenna with my hand also lead to high number of antena fades even close to receiver.
Perhaps I have a totally bad unit...

Horizon Hobby sent out a product bulletin in June stated that some DX-18 radios had an issue with limited range. Look for a green dot in the battery compartment. If no green dot is found, you may need to send your transmitter in for servicing. Check the Horizon Hobby website for the product bulletin regarding the D x-18 for specific instructions on how to return your DX-18 transmitter.

If no green dot do a range test (1/2 mile) as specified in bulletin. If it fails then you send it it...if it passes you are good to go. Mine passed and I have been flying it with no problems.
