Hey guys.. I just need a simple gear door and retract sequencer for Air. Its just an old Byron F-16 so I dont want to spend huge dollars. I have made the nose door into 2 doors so it dont get ripped off by the plush sod field I fly from. So here's what I need....

4 doors open....Gear Down
Gear up.... 4 Doors Close

Very simple eh. Brakes are on a separate Chnl as they will be magnetic.

Please post a suggestion with a link. or...

Maybe someone has a used one lying around they would like to part with. (please be sure it works lol)

I would recommend the Ultra Precision UP3 valve. It's bulletproof and easy to set up. The Dreamworks guys are great to deal with as well. Come to think of it, I believe Ultra Precision is based in Canada so it may be cheaper to buy it locally.

The up 3 is great. But you can do it with one servo and two valves if you want. I have this on my l39 and it works great. A little time to work out the geometry and servo slow helps. But, the doors stay open with gear down on 16

I would use a normal valve for the gear and a push button to operate the doors. Try that with a slow servo and a double arm. Pretty easy. Clifford smav-3 would be the one your looking for. Bvm has used these forever to operate doors

UP3 is most likely the easiest setup. Just plumb the air lines like the diagram shows (diagram comes with the valve) and it works every time. All you'll need is one servo and the UP3 valve to work the gear and doors.

For half the cost of the UP3 you can use a Behotec Retract/Brake valve. The "brake" line from the valve controls the doors closed.Door open lines are T'd into the gear down lines in your system.Just slow your servo speed to get the time delay needed for gear to come up before doors close. I've been using this valve in this way for a while now and it has performed flawless so far.

Wow! Several different solutions. Gotta love RC building

I was set to go with the UP3 as they are just 45min away... but then ScOtt Posted about the Beotech witch I have used/an using and they are very simple.

I second cyphur01's suggestion. I do the same thing only the valve is plumbed into gear up port and the valve is actuated by the gear itself. I restrict one leg slightly to make sure everything else is tucked up before the doors are scheduled closed. Hope this helps!

Glad I could help Trevor. On initial set-up make sure to really slow down the servo speed a lot.Do a few gear swings to make sure all is ok then adjust the servo speed up to a delay rate you like.

I've seen to many leak and adjustment issues with Clippard SMAV-3 / BVM button valve as they get older and have more cycles. The Behotec valve is the bulletproof solution in my opinion.
