From what I can tell the wings are good, still working the stabs so building new stabs and laminating the rear with carbon like I was already going to do may be the best option. I have a hole year before I need to worry about it anyway. I am going to fly my f-15 some before I leave so its 100% done when I get back.
Isn't it nice to spend $8,000+ on an FEJ jet, only to have to completely rebuild it from scratch by making a fuselage mold, bulkheads, wings, stabs, fins, and then take the FEJ jet out to the shooting range and use it for target practice?

Bob, since you are making wings and stabs, why stop there? Why not use your model as a plug and make your own, lighter, stronger airframe? You can save time by using your FEJ nose cone, gear doors, spoilers, sweep mechanism and retracts.
Now wouldn't that be the ultimate irony?

Bob flops a mould of a chinese ARF to make one that doesn't fall apart & promptly
receives a nasty letter from FEJ threatening legal action for breach of copyright!

Or then copies his mould and then sells copies of the copy...

FEJ wouldn't have a leg to stand on. First and foremost, Bob's version would not break apart in mid-air, whereas FEJ jets do. So the jets would not be alike in any way.

Secondly, FEJ doesn't concern themselves with copyrights anyway. But if they did, I think they'd get the copyright for 'poor design and construction.'

My fuse is good I have Wood throughout and I added carbon throughout. I think my wings are ok but I rather be safe then sorry.

Keep flying.

Airplane, I was joking about that, I don't have to rebuild my jets, my f-15 is fine the 14 should be as well, If the stabs are ply that is. I don't mind building I mod things regardless my beef with Fej has nothing to do with me or my jets.

Why waste the time splashing a mold off a FEj F14? The thing looks like a Tomcat, but when your someone who has put YEARS of research and design into one, you can spot alot of flaws in its outline, let alone its lack of structural integrity. Here i am thinking the issue was going to be with the pivot interface when they first released photos of the model.

What really scares me now for those who own these things, is once the stab and fuselage construction deficiencies are rectified and they are begun to be flown more aggressively, what is the next weak spot to show up!? I mean based on what has been shown, its obvious FEJ has no clue what they are doing, so you just cant sit there with your eyes closed and think that these are the Only problems with the F14. Look at Jims F14, it has 1.5 degrees of DIFFERENCE on the incidence between each wing panel, how the heck is that possible!?

Good for you, Fender. Hope the stabs have ply ribs, and things work out.

Airplane, its all good I'm just trying to help some friends/other folks out. Im hoping to reset the clock this year being gone and get back to fun side of our hobby. I think like others I just got caught up in everything on rcu, I'm a very laid back person who normally gets along with everyone. I think that's what sucked me in, being labeled something that is soooo far from who I really am. I love to build and pass on what I know to help others, plus learning at the same time!

Absolute insanity. Anyone who says "oh this has happened to all the other manufacturers at some point" is absolutely ridiculous. These planes are going down all over the place. I've been in this hobby for a long time and have never seen this many planes of the same manufacturer go down in such a short period of time due to a similar problems. These planes are worst then the Obama care roll out. Disaster!

Another FEJ jet goes down due to defective materials and design. Wow, I'm not surprised one bit. Maybe the people who buy and support this crap will begin to change their level of support. For some reason I doubt it though. Especially from their reps. I feel for the guys who are forced to fix their jets that are designed improperly. The big problem is that they can only fix what they can see. I hope the people who paid thousands of dollars for this crap learn from their experiences and stop buying it. We are not supposed to have to redesign these things folks. We are not supposed to have to fly these jets worried about when they will fall apart in the air. I can tell you that I have never had a remote worry of my BVM jets blowing up in the air.

In my opinion, people who fly these things WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE did it to themselves and it is hard to feel sorry for them especially when they get online excoriating folks for pointing out the obvious. Anyone that promotes this crap should apologize to the community for aiding an abetting a company that builds shinny static models that don't hold up in the air. Yes, to me its a crime to take people's money like this and run. It's a criminal enterprise.. It's fraud.

Well said. Again I think event coordinators should step up and do the right thing till these people figure out what their problem is, send out addendums and send out replacement corrected parts. To do that though, you must first admit your product has problems that are serious. Honey comb should stay in the full scale world and in children's cereal bowls.

Wow, hate to hear about the fej's. Sorry to hear everyone's had such rough luck with them. I've had a couple of opportunities to trade or buy one, glad I didn't do it.

My friend found a temporary update from the factory to address the problems they've been having lately and applied them to his fej f16. Here's a video of it

Never posted in this thread but I was thinking how funny it would be if a thread came up and someone said, "I bought this FEJ Jet second hand and plan to put twin Jet Joe turbines with an Orange receiver and Blue Sky 9G servos, what do you think?" Nothing would surprise me anymore!

Many people buy kits just to buy kits. They end up on ebay or at swap meets and get passed along. What percentage will ever fly? Who knows.

When or if they show up on the flight-line it is because the owner is confident nothing bad will happen. "Hope" is the primary and overriding plan. "Mine isn't like the others". Some even try to apply so called "fixes" or explain that FEJ said it was "updated".

FEJ is not going anywhere soon, and there are already many kits out there.

Hi,

I think that thing's AWESOME! And look, it loops, rolls and knife-edges without the stabs fluttering off! I'd say a leap forward!
