No reason to ''pain'' if you couldn't afford the P-180RX .. if something comes close to JetCat that might be AMT and nothing else.
Also KingTech REP... but modeller first

I have a P-180RX and K-180G. Both are awesome.

How about the fuel consumption?I use K-80f in my PST reaction with diesel. The start process time is the same as use jet-a1.Flying time is about8 min. from start with 2.5L. tank and the fuel left about200 cc.
Now I am going to buy a new plane and the factory write in the bottom of the invoice that
"Suggestions:This model only has a tank with 3.5L.The fuel will be not enought if you se Kingtech K-140.We advise the clients to use other engine brands that save the fuel."
What do you think about this?I don't have any other brand to compare.

I don't own either a JetCat or a Kingtech but have seen both brands show up as new engines at the field - the Jetcat wouldn't run and the Kingtech ran flawlessly. The Jetcat turned out to have a factory defect that should never have been released if they're a ''real modellers engine''.
If you were me and were trying to decide which engine to buy - which would you pick? I know a modeller who has been a long term Jetcat rep, dealer - just bought his first Kingtech. Hmmmmmm......

Knowing what I know now, I'd probably buy a Kingtech. And here's why. Kingtech will have the engine in stock for you.
Don't get me wrong, I love my old propane start Jetcats. I have four of them! (At my peak Jet R/c'ing I had 15!)
And I get really annoyed at having to wait, sometimes a VERY long time, for an engine to come in stock and for service from JetCat. When you get service from JetCat, Bob Wilcox is TOP NOTCH.
Frankly, what is really important to me is that my equipment work. I am blessed that price is usually not an option for me.
JetCat has a reputation like no other here on the west coast. Most everyone flies them that I know of.
I've heard great things from Kingtech and the guys that fly them around here, love them. I've personally seen them fly flawlessly time after time. A great opportunity opened up to pick one up locally, so I pulled the proverbial trigger.
I've only got 5 flights on my Kingtech vs >1000 with my jetcats, but so far, I'm pressed. VERY impressed.
If its cheaper, that's even BETTER!!

Actually Raffy ( Dr: cito ) was coming back from work that afternoon, sometimes he use his jets to go to work to avoid traffic here in the SF bay area, that's how he got so many hours on his JetCats engines LOL

I got them to do a Marines scheme that they don't list as available but, had it shown on their front page.

I opted for a Tam pipe optimized for a 180. Which scheme are you getting? .
ORIGINAL: luv2flyrc
Very nice! Which pipe did you get? 160 or 200

RE: More Praise for Kingtech Turbines.
JETCAT ( FOR US ) is the best engine ( repeat for us ), we have 10 engines ( P70 to P180 RX ), around 2000 flights ( or more ), the only problem that we had since the first JC, was turbine wheel failure, and, JETCAT BRAZIL replace the engine on time!!!
Well, the difference on price list for an KINGTECH, for us at this moment, not justified change the brands.
But, i will buy an KINGTECH in future, because, all KT that i saw running very well, include on diesel x 2 cycle oil ( very, very competitive and affordable for pilots to buy fuel ).
JETCAT needs "FLEX FUEL" engines!!! ( my opinion )

My Skymaster F4 uses a Kingtech K-170. I want to upgrade to the 180 since its the same size and more thrust. I love the 170 though. She moves quite well with it.
Rav, I had that scheme once. I really like it. One thing though, you gotta get those shark teeth fixed. The are not the right type for that theme.

Wait,
You have an invoice that suggests that you 'use other engine brands' thank Kingtech? May I ask what plane?

Andy I love my 170 but the 180 is like an uncaged animal!!
I flew my F22 with my 170 and also flew it with a 180. With the 180 the plane weighed over 40 lbs full of fuel and the 180 would push it straight up full of fuel on takeoff. That 180 pushed over 40lbs for sure.

RE: More Praise for Kingtech Turbines.
I like the fuel economy of the k-170 I think the 180 uses more fuel than the stated 19 oz/min probably closer to 25 oz running full click, NOTE my 180 was factory set to 124,000 rpm instead of 123 as stated on the site so that might have something to do with it. Also running diesel not sure if it makes a diff in fuel consumption.

Barry informed me that you'll get better fuel economy with diesel.

If you switch over from Kero to diesel be sure to do a complete run up on the turbine to allow the ECU to recalculate settings before taking off. Ask anyone at KY how I know lol. Jet was saved and landed fine but it almost didn't take off the first flight because the ECU was delaying full throttle.
All is well and lessons learned.

There is about 109 ounces of kerosene in 128 fluid ounces (1 gallon).
So if you are burning 19 ounces a minute, this is 22.3 fluid ounces.
Someone else used weight years ago, there was the same confusion, maybe it was AMT USA I can't remember.
EDIT: Diesel is a little different but not much
