The parts are available, we have stock but don't ship to the USA.
I guess one of the UK retailers who do ship to the states (have suitable insurance) can help you. Try Sussex Model Centre, they deal with the states a lot, have regular orders from Ripmax here in the UK. Or Slough RC who also have ties.

Have a look at post 247 on page 10. I posted some photos of my VT80 Xcalibur. This turbine is ideal for the airframe.

[QUOTEI need a source for some tires and struts for my xcaliber. I have just flat out wore mine out. Global here in the states does not have any.I thought I saw a place that might offer some aftermarket struts. If international shipping isn't too stiff may go that route.][/QUOTE]

Mike,
Please let us know if you find anything that will work without too much modification here in the US.

Thanks

Hi Jim,
Yep, saw all those photos etc you posted. Looks great.
I'm just waiting for the last of my bits and pieces to show up, and then I'll have it ready to go.
Cheers,
Morten

Hi, congratulations to Dave for this great post and all the participants for their contributions .Llevo two months waiting to get my xcalibur sport theme, meanwhile, due to the unpleasant break xcalibur of a partner, this has fallen into my hands and I'm fixing it, I would like to show the progress of it.

A new drive I will install one Merlin 100, but this I am attaching a turbine derived kj66 and is almost identical in size to pieces and jecat p80, is a turbo-jet, construction Switzerland.

Has anyone had any issues with the carbon wing tube being to short?. Does anybody know the length of the tube so I can check as im only able to clamp one wing half on tube. Tube does not reach clamp on other side.It seems to be about 10mm short?. I have to pull tube half way out of clamp on one side to be able to get to reach other side. This cant be right?.

I will double check length tomorrow but think it was under a meter. I never noticed this problem before as wing tube has always been a tight fit in wing half. I had not realised that one side was not clamping to tube. Only noticed this problem this morning when wing moved whilst in flight. I was lucky. Wing didn't come off.

Yeah but a couple of quick rolls could zing them out into space. I have noticed that I must tighten the wing bolts every couple of flights and they have loosened in fight. Another thing you can look for for the wings is to deburr the nylon clamps in the wings. They have very sharp edges and sometimes prevent the wing tube from seating properly and as a result the tube is not fully engaged in the clamp.

My wing tube is a bit short, but I've got used to working around it. I push it all the way into one wing then back out a few mm before clamping that wing up. When I put the other wing on the tube is centred and gets held well enough by both clamps to not cause an issue.

I am able to overlook such issues especially when I see how this thing flies in the hands of someone who really knows what they are doing. I was at the last Jet Modellers Association meeting of the year at Throckmorton, Worcestershire yesterday. We arrived in the morning to find the airfield enveloped by fog which gave a few hundred metres visibility all round and about 50m vertically. Whilst everyone else was wandering around, hands in pockets waiting for the fog to clear Dave Wilshere was stood on his own flying an Xcalibur! It can fly so slowly and pull such tight turns that he was able to keep it within the very limited limits of visibility. Well almost, I recall it did totally disappear at least once at the top of a loop! A very impressive sight indeed.

Hello!
I have an Xcalibur in the RAF-design. After a bad landing I scratch the wing.
I need the blue and the red colour( oracover) to repair the wing with the oracover film.
Best regards

Don't think the film used is Oracover, but I'm sure the colour is a close match. Do you have a dealer with an Oracover colour match chart?

Little more, I max the ailerons and rudders as they hit a stop with the bevelled edge, the elevator I then adjust to balance/match the aileron response (elevator more powerful than the ailerons so I use a little more expo on elev)
