Can anyone confirm the thickness of wiring for servo extensions?

Ive done some googling and have found suggestions from 22AWG - 28AWG

Like most internet responses, they leave you more confused

cheers

0.35mm sq Like Powerbox wire. Lightest, fire proof. I use std JR/Graupner leads usually since std lengths work.

LOL my point exactly,

0.35mm sq converts to 22awg in wire gauge, when searching for Graupner Servo extensions they state 25 awg wire.

Std or heavy duty Graupner leads? They have two. Think they call the HD Gold leads

Think you found the USA listing which showed some cheap sudo silicon leads Graupner offered after they reopened. I have some I wouldn’t sell. They are junk.

Default Nose Retract

Another question, is there a way to line up the front retract steering wires?
What is the purpose of the silicon on the front retract, circles in the attached picture?

Thank you in advance

By eye is good enough, unless the mains are 100% matched on toe in you will need steering. So trim on the ground. I run the wires slightly slack, the trailing wheel tracks.
The silicon is something I use to stop the closed loop wire swinging around on the pin. It still steers, but the silicon will keep the wires inline. I slot the face vertically where the wires protrude

Finally took the plunge and installed the nose wheel, steering wires and air lines. The moral of this exercise is as Dave said. "steadily eyeing up", marking 3 times, checking and rechecking before you do anything.

very well pleased

Default Air Lines Install

I have today carried out a few more tasks. Run the remainder of the air lines and installed line tidies.
The Behotec Brake /Retract valve as been installed. see Pictures and lines wire locked

I would like to fit connectors which would allow me to remove the side plate and so behotec valve, without removing all air lines.
Would the brass connectors stay airtight? I know they are used for wing retracts to fuselage joints. Just need to know if they can be left connected 24/7 and remain airtight.
any other suggetions greatfully received

cheers

I've not had to remove my plates in 3 1/2 years. But I'd unscrew the valve and slide the plate out if you ever have too...Joints are a No no

Does anyone have the product codes for the correct film to match the yellow sport scheme? I'm after the dark blue and the yellow used on the booms. Recovering for a friend, have a yellow which is close, but nothing near to the blue. He wants it to look like stock, so would prefer to have the exact matches if possible.

Cheers,

Simon

Default Paint Match

Greetings Gentlemen
I have read on this thread about members needing to find the film that is as close a match as can be expected for the RAF Scheme. So taking this to the next level. I have today had the paint (gelcoat) Spectro-analysed with the following results. I will upload the paint codes and telephone number of the company, once I have confirmed the results.

So keep checking back.

Regards

YAY!

If any of you have this Xcalibur in the RAF Scheme. You will know around the nose cone the finish gets damaged very easily and no longer as straight lines.
Using the paint I collected yesterday and a very small brush. After masking a line, I carefully added a small amount of paint. Let it dry over night and have just given is a quick compounding.

Each film batch varies very slightly...so its not so cut and tried! Also it fades in sunlight, so older models will be different again!

Happy Xmas :-)

Just to clarify, The colours I had analysed is for the gelcoat. NOT the film covering. That subject as already been covered using a Monokote Film.....
I also feel, if an Xcalibur got to be that old it needed touching up. I think it would need more work than a simple restoration.......
