can you tell me what the warranty is for the jetsmunt 100.? I seen kingtech is lifetime but they don't cover bearings.? do you have to pay the regular service fee and the bearings on top of that. its tough trying to figure out warranty's on different brands of turbines. pretty confusing.
thanks

No idea on the warranty, but I'm sure the service interval is 25 hours. I went with the motor as I have a few friends using them and have seen little complaints.

Not sure how lifetime warranties work, but I guess you'd have no choice but to follow the service intervals to be eligible for any warranty after a few years. I've got a Jetcat, Wren, and a recently purchased Kingtechs. Stick with something well known to you and the people you fly with.....that's the best warranty.

i had a 140 jetmunts (since sold) and the residual thrust on the bigger turbine was an issue in my set up, but not noticed anything with the 100. Even on concrete the model will sit happily at idle without starting to roll on under idle thrust.

Two years or 25 hours run time, which ever comes first.....

100XBL in my Xcalibur also and I only fly off concrete. I have no issues with 'creep' due to residual idle trust or any issues on landing (that said I do have a big runway to hit ).

Cheers,

Lee.

Lands perfectly and can land on a 50 m strip
Take offs are great with the extra power
Best fun jet
So come to fly with us in Kiryat Gat - no more excuses!!

BTW mine with P-80 easily takeoffs and lands on a 100m runway with about 50% length to spare.

About $300 for two new bearings and a re-balance+ shipping

The Jetsmunt 100XBL is a perfect motor for this jet. A JetCentral Rabbit as well just because they are basically the same turbine internals..........just different can, starter and software. Jetcat P100 is a real good choice too! They are all small can, high power 100's.

Mine flies OK with a Jetcat P70, so anything above that power up to a 100 would be great if it does not weigh too much. I know guys are flying with a P60, so it must be fairly efficient. Myself, I like the extra power for vertical performance, so a P70 would be minimum. That's me.

This frame is a little more aerodynamic than a Sprint, so it does come in a little quicker, or should I say it does not lose energy as fast as a Sprint.................I'm learning that one! Other than that, it feels like a smoother, more "locked-in" Sprint. I am happy that I got to fly this plane before the snow flies this year. Everything went perfectly fine first time out. No issues or problems, and I am real happy with the value in this jet.

Here is a short video of my second flight.

Great. You can come off the power earlier, the Xcalibur holds it energy well, because you have trees about you can trade the height for speed and energy. That will lessen the chance of bouncing. You did a good job because you did not panic and try and force it down (more bounces!)

Some guys add it, 8mm at the root is about right if you do, only needs a tiny mount more on the manual down mentioned.
I don't fly with it most of the time, but do have it set on a separate switch so it can be added if I need a higher sink rate.

Thanks Dave, I tried to come in like a Sprint and it was just a little "hot".

Yes, panic on the landing will get you in trouble porpoising.............been there, done that! I actually prefer the grass landings as they usually don't even require brakes.

I may set up a switch for crow just in case. I really like how my Ultra Flash lands with a bit of crow, I just never needed it for the Boomer. The P70 has quite a bit of throttle lag so I usually put a bit of throttle up on the landing approach just in case....................

I think once I get used to the speed that I need for the approach, it will be just as easy or even easier than a Sprint to land. Very comfortable plane to fly.

The Sprint has a lot more airframe drag, the Xcalibur holds it's momentum well, you'll find it just keeps coming, so with the slow spooling P-70 you need to time the chop.
with your field, Crow might just be a good thing as it dumps some of the lift

Hey Guys,
Just need some help setting up my excalibur (actually i have been flying it for about 6 months 50-60 flights).
Dry weight is 8.8kg
I have my CG around 130mm and i still need 5mm of down elevator.
I tried moving the cg further back to the manual location but required more down elevator.
I checked the incidence and it seems ok.
Almost can't fly it inverted as it requires full down elevator.
Just can't figure it out, tempted just to pull the turbine out (K100) and move to another model.

Another thing to mention is on the xicoy cg unit it says I'm 320g nose heavy from the 160mm cg location.
Could it be the trust line of the turbine?

Any chance you could take some photos of the tailplane mounted and also the tailplane from the bottom where the booms mount.
Not the turbine angle, I'm sure its to do with the tailplane seating.
I have seen some where the sockets are cut too deep and if not noticed the fin rear notch sits on the lower skin giving the tailplane negative incidence (up elevator)

if you have the balance at 130mm its massively nose heavy. 170mm is the sweet spot.

Here is one we are building for a customer and this will need a tiny trim on the fin so that it seats flat.

Thanks Dave,
So do i just trim a few mm off the rear of the boom seat? Which would effectively lower the rear of the tailplane or do i just pack under the leading edge bolts?

In the pictures it looks like there is a mark at the back of the tailplane and I see no gap where that notch is when the tail is fitted. The film on the fin also looks crushed.
Cut down the notch so it does not touch the tailplane lower surface/covering. Looks like it needs 1mm trimming off

The booms were supposed to be sized for Midi servo, but the factory has never changed this!
We use JR3401/JR NX3421 servos, but our Savox option uses SH-1250MG
You need a plywood shim. I use the second cut out install plate and cut off two strips from the edge.

Hi Dave,
As you can see in the 3rd photo the tailplane has now been lowered by 2mm (black lines before and after), will this be enough?
Would it be worth checking with a xicoy angle meter, i'm assuming tailplane is 0 deg with the wings.
Thanks again Scott

so standard size servos will work in the tail for the rudders.?
