Hope you can make it to Monroe.

To Dave Wilshere or any one else for answers....What under lining problems going on now,if isn't wing screws not long enough or What my problem was 15mm not wide enough...American screws did the trick..Is this manufacture getting sloppy..What other things should we know about??????????

Mounting blocks? Does not sound like an Xcalibur...Its a plate. Unless the whole fin top comes off I don't see it. I have seen lots of Xcaliburs, probably 500+ flights on them, seen them bounced and abused...never seen a tailplane come off except with chunks of boom!
Wing screws are 25-30mm, never seen a kit with 15mm screws...
No, the latest yellow scheme kits that arrived seem better than ever with glass cloth on the former joints. We have three being built now-if we find something will let you know.

Another 7 flights on my Xcalibur today...! We were blessed with zero wind so I tried CROW..... I configured it to come in with full flaps, about 6mm as recommended on here.
It work brilliantly, I'm a convert and my Xcalibur won't be going back to no-CROW.
Normally in zero wind my plane would just float on and on down the runway but with CROW in place I actually had to hold a small amount of throttle on to get to the desired touch-down point. I'd then lower the throttle and down she came slow as you like.
Gentlemen, its a setting well worth doing if you have a fair amount of residual thrust on your turbine.
Happy days, can't wait until the next session......

Read the post again, wing screws were long,I was talking about the width 15mm not wide enough....When you try to screw down in the wing it would not grab acting striped out....Bad chink hardware....I have had other people complain of NO hardware package in the kit,Screws not long enough.....And its true about the other Xcalibur...Maybe.I can get pics of this Xcalibur when they return from a Jet fly in.....Can't these builders get it,,, so you don't have to add washers to horizontal stab so when you nail the throttle it doesn't climb,,, or have to change the front or rear of your turbine...
The only thing I am concerned about people do there damn JOB right, period..........Quality Control double check before kits are sent out to customers...
PS. Dave Wilshere,,,, He meant the mounting plate came loose,,, Its glued in at least its suppose to be......

Well I do have an update,,,,,From a friend............. It was just 1 Xcalibur that had been in a couple crashes. The stab came off in flight. The wooden studs ( that the stab mounting screws screw into )came out of the rudders. He said that the mounts had very little glue on them. I think it was the first crash or 2 that loosen the mounts. Anyhow you might want to check the stab before each flight. I have 35 flights on mine and the stab is still tight. It would be wise to check them........

well i have installed the flap servo and just finished installing the wren 70 turbine, i have it set just right in the mount but wanted to check if this is about right for sticking out the back??

Looks fine to me. My Jetmunts didn't stick out very far and I had no issues with heat. Don't pull the turbine too far back as you will have to compensate with balance weight in the nose.
You got a picture looking from above with canopy off?

Simon is spot-on that you want as little of the cone sticking out the back as possible to minimise any weight you may have to add up front to balance it out. But that said, at the same time you don't want any heat issues at the rear.
I'm not familiar with the Wren 70 cone length but this is what I have on my Jets-Munt 100XBL. Just been out to the workshop to measure it..! Lots and lots of flights now on this model without any heat issues.
Give us a picture with the canopy off for a final view.
Cheers,
Lee.

Morning guys here is some top pictures. Found with this engine and my liposituation up front it will come out just right with cofg but not filled the bubble trap when checking yet

I simply put my Wren 80 DCI out enough on the back so that any improbable (...but possible) fule spill from there won't enter the fuselage bottom of course. 10-15mm out the back edge. This to have of course the minimum weight need there in front for balance.
Hope this helps.

Paul B had the first Sports scheme Xcalibur ready way back and now has the first Yellow ready for this weekends JMA event.
Same P-60SE (36 hours!) and JR 28X radio set up, now with a PB Sensor switch and 2 x 2200 Rx Li-Pos
Looks good!

Steve,
I use Align servos a lot as well. Take a lot of abuse in my heli's so will be perfect in your jet.
You aiming for a maiden before it turns wet and cold ?

Hi Dave, I'm looking forward to seeing the new Sports scheme on Sunday, it looks the business from the photos.
Can I once again be a pain and ask you to blow the cobwebs from my Xcalibur? I have put CROW on a separate switch mixed with full landing flap and would be interested to see the result.

Well Paul did his maiden just as the showers stopped (I left LM as the sun came out to come back and work)
Even in dark skies it showed up really well. Few peeps of trim and it was grooving.
