Apologies if the solution is in the thread already but it is a long thread to wade through, I'll keep searching meanwhile.

1. I can get ailerons and the central flap programmed with Aircraft Type > Wing set to 2 Ail 1 Flap (my current setup)
2. I can get ailerons and spoilerons working with Aircraft Type > Wing set to Flaperons
I cannot work out how to have both

The first was my standard setup for all flights so far but the other members in my club that have Xcaliburs highly recommend adding Spoilerons for landings.
Unfortunately none of them have Spektrum radios.

Any ideas on how to set up spoilerons AND the single flap on my DX9 please?
Do I take it no-one on here is using Spektrum then?
The lack of response is deafening

Don't use the DSX-9, but get the two ailerons working on different channels and the flap on another. Then in a free mixer mix Flap to Aileron 2 with the Flap switch in the landing position. If one aileron goes up and the other down, change the aileron channel you are mixing to.
When you put a figure into the mix the ailerons will raise or lower. Set the mix direction to raise them.

if you will update your tx to the new 1.20 i can send you the spm file and it should load but i have had trouble with sharing files with telelmtry in use as it hangs up the other tx not knowing where to put the info for that on an uploaded file. best if you can make use of the pics to dial yours in by hand

Good to see the Jets-Munt label in the background, I have a J-M 80 in my Xcalibur.
I am already at 1.2, thanks for the offer but I have sorted it now via RCGroups

Default Airspeed data....spekky

A quick question,

I want to get my GPS speed readout on just flight mode 3(landing flap)

It just keeps yapping the speed data in all modes! Selected the voice on flight mode three with the warning interval set 5seconds....

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Looking at getting one of these as a daily flyer and to teach grandson jet flying in the near future. Would a 70 engine give you plenty of fun for this airframe or does it need a 100.

Thanks,
Scott

I had a wren 70 in mine and it flew great. It doesn't have vertical performance but good power to chuck it around the sky with.

What is typical landing speed (Pitot tube or GPS wind adjusted)? Mine seems to like 60 mph and 55 noticeably lacks elevator authority but that just might be my throws are not high enough. Seems high to me? Any input? Trailing links makes every landing look great but I would prefer to take some energy out of the landing. Also landing on cross probably helps.

I've decided to build another X-Caliber for my southern house (Way to cold in Ohio in the winter) What is the recommended rudder servos? I remember when I built my first one the mini servos were to small and needed some added mods.

What is the width and length now of the new airframes?

Great forum Dave !!

I meant width and length of the servo pockets for the rudder.

The factory has never reduced the opening like we asked, so the mount is still for std servos circa 39mm long x 19mm wide, but we use Midi 33 x 16 because of the weight saving (nose weight) only.

Thanks guys, looks like a 70 would be plenty for this plane.

Scott,
I've been flying mine since they became available here in the US with an JetCat P-70 (has 65 hours on it now!), while not fast compared to today's 300 class aircraft, it's fine for me and very enjoyable. Great flying airplane and lands so easily.

Thanks, my first one came out nose heavy and had to move the turbine back and batteries behind the nose section. Would have preferred they had stayed in the nose. Bottom line don't secure your turbine until balancing. I used my fingers and a Xycoy balancer, FYI. I think the issue is the newer turbines are lighter. My first I used a JC Bee II and my second will be using a JC Rabbit. The Bee was fine for the airframe just want something on grass gets off a little quicker.

Hi Everybody

I´m the proud owner of a JSM Xcalibur , bought it last week from a UK retailer and currently waiting for the package to arrive .
According to what ìve read , it´s a great value for the money .
This one being my 2nd jet model , I found this thread really inspiring and full of very usefull information, so I would like to thank every one of you for sharing all this amazing info.

After crash landing my JTM viper jet , I opted to buy the Xcalibur instead of repairing it , since I never liked the feeling of it anyway , so I inted on using the electronics from it , including the turbine (Jets Munt VT80) .servos will be Hitec hs5685mh on ailerons , flap and elevator, and RJX FS0390HV on the rudders I preffer to use an all HV setup, will be using 2Gens Ace 2200 mah 2s Lipos for the electronics , and 3300mah 2s for the turbine , besides I have a whole set of uni light led that could mount on it, but don´t know yet, since I would like to keep her as light as possible.

I have the same engine in mine and jet weights 16LBs and the turbine is rated at 19LBs, so performance is great, to say the least!
