Avonds F-104-resurrected:)
After 3 years or so in the attic in pieces, the red beast is fixed now. I also made it a bit simpler- changed the scale gear into the regular one and no gear door this time. The ducts were also cut short inside, and thus only one main tank is enough just in front of the turbine. Some work is still left to do, but its looking quite good already. First, some laminating and lot of spackle...I had to paint about 1/4 of it again and add the panel lines and clearcoat. The tip tanks are just black with no panel detailing. Turbine will be a Wren 80 Jubilee. I would like to thank Sean McHale for all his e-mail help
BTW, its my 40th birthday today, so of course I test run the Jubilee today!

Thanks
Sean, thanks! I quote my email to you here as well about the eyesight-yes this aircraft is fast and small...I noticed it again when flying it...but just have to keep it close enough...
I flew the 104 today! It flew so beautifully-not a single click of trim was needed. Guess I´m treating her right this time Wish I had had the knowledge of removing the ducts 4 years ago, but live and learn! So smooth, stable, so gentle and still fast! The Wren is just perfect, I could fly a loop and a half cuban-all the power I need for this aircraft. I get 5 minutes airtime with the 2 liters onboard. Not too much, but who wants to fly this for 10 minutes.
The landings were still a bit hot, but really nice otherwise... I´ll fly her more soon! I really felt immortal after the 3 perfect flights...this is a HERO airplane.
BR, Tuomas
