Default PPG K-36 primer substitute

Want to glass a few things. The only process I've used was to brush K36 over the "glassed wood" then sand it smooth & paint it, but apparently K36 has been discontinued.. Anyone have something else that brushes or sprays on, then sands easily?

I just glassed the wing of a pattern model using Advantage brand. Here you go: http://www.advantagerefinishproducts...-surfacers.htm

I could not tell the difference between K-36 and this, except 1/3 the price. I did glass the surface first with reduced epoxy resin, then covered the weave with primer and wet sanded. Came out light and very solid.

It's actually a Fun Key Japan Phoenix 60. It looks more like a Curare than a legacy Phoenix though. Very unique. I think this is the same company that actually makes Yellow Aircraft kits, very high quality.

Locally. It is the "prefered" brand name of a local body shop called English Color. If you cannot get Advantage, there are other similar products available only. Google Automotive Urethane Primer......you will be amazed at what's out there. I personally would not spend another dime on PPG high end products again. They are fine for my $90K Mercedes, but for modeling I don't see the benefit anymore.

Note, I don't own a $90K Mercedes.
