With that sort of packaging you need to get a Job at Apple. I still have all the boxes for my Iphones and Ipods, Cant seem to throw them away. Which is sort of a problem actually. Question is it my problem or Apple's

Hi,
Behotec 220 is perfekt for F 104
You can reduce the Thrust (rpm) to 20 kg and you have a happy Turbine with long life

Landing light installation. These will be included in the full lighting kit. They are among the most powerful landing lights I've ever seen on a model. The large machined aluminium heat sink is required. It will be supplied as a full unit painted including custom bracket. The light orientation will be with the lines facing vertically down on the lens with the gear down. This is dry fitted at the moment. Its not strictly scale in both position and look but the effect is great once turned on. The Little Jet Company

Awesome scale modeling!!! Your work is amazing! Your attention to detail amazes me.

Although I have never flown anything like a f-104, your radar sweep got my attention. Your display most likely shows an image of a ground radar. For all aircraft other than an AWACS bird, the sweep is usually limited to about +/- 45 degrees. It's impossible to get the 360 degree sweep that you show with the nose mounted dish. Having said that, take a look at this:

http://starfighter.no/web/radar-e.html.

Tailwinds,

John

Thanks John

Good point and thanks for the link, I can change the content to whatever the customer desires. There is a +/- 45 degree animation available

Thanks Ziv and thank you to everyone who's purchased a lens kit! I've been amazed by the uptake and have nearly sold out in just 4 days. I now only have three left in stock so if you want one nows your chance.

Having received the F104 lens kit from Alex this morning, I can only echo the comments above. The attention to detail and quality of the parts is superb.
I am looking forward to installing them over the weekend.

Well done Alex.

When you install it make sure you line up all the screw heads as Alex would

Alex, would it be possible for you to resize these to 1/7th scale for the Avonds F-104 I am building?

Would anyone be interested in an upgraded control linkage kit? They would include a carbon reinforced double ball linked servo arm, stainless steel threaded core sleeved with carbon going to a heavy duty carbon reinforced ball link all bonded together with hysol. I would include two slat linkages, two flap linkages and one stab linkage. The stab will include a heavy duty machined aluminium lockable clevis. Obviously the below pictures show the slat deployed far beyond its maximum in flight extension but it helps show the linkage.

Hi Harry, Sorry I have no plans to make the lens sets for the Avonds. You're not the first to ask so I have looked into it but the cost is prohibitive.

Hi Alex, would you mind posting a picture of the bulkhead that the fuel tank mount joins? I believe the forward part of the landing gear attaches to it also.

No problem...

Yes, you seem to be missing most of the internals Do you have the woodwork or is it a mistake?

I've got the fuel tank tray and the forward vertical support. I'm really upset that they don't have a parts list showing what should be included with the jet and where each part is to be installed. Thank god for build threads! I hope everyone will contribute as their builds progress. SM is supposed to be sending me the wood. I'm wondering how far up the sides of the fuselage that bulkhead reaches? The aft gear bulkhead runs full circumference.

Yes the instructions are poor for these models but thats not just Skymaster unfortunately. I'm in process of making an interactive iPad App based on the Skymaster F104 that should walk people through the build and there will be an add on explaining how I did the scale details.

Changing the subject here's a short video about the PowerBox batteries that are going to be installed into this model.
