The helmet that came with this 1/4 Premier Pilot is poor. Loads of pin holes and seam lines and generally a bad fit on every part. First step was to dismantle it rub it down and apply a coat of filler primer. I'll then fill any of the larger holes that appear and cut back ready for another coat. This will eventually be painted metallic light blue with a gloss finish.

I've finished installing 'GBR Jets' Mag Lock Vent system which I'm really impressed with! This is the 'Mag Lock Stopper' which I was sent to try. It's available soon through GBR Jets and their retail partners. Like all of their stuff its excellent quality and I'll be using them on all my future builds. Its held in magnetically and as you can see very visible even in low light. I'll never forget to remove a stopper before flight again.

I've been told that the turbine should be arriving soon so I can finally put this build to bed and start to do the ground tests before handover

Hi Dennis, I'm afraid not... unless he starts coming on here and commenting himself which is unlikely.

Interestingly my entire year has been booked with builds and every one is export, main land Europe mostly. I don't even think I have any models built by 'The Little Jet Company' left in the UK Shame because as a builder you get a bit attached to the stuff you produce. The 104 is destined to fly in France mostly.

Cheers, Alex

The Starfighters drouge chute housing is now finished and all plumbed in thanks to an Al's Hobbies delivery. I've designed an ejector that will launch the chute out once the door is open, this will hopefully guard against the possibility of the drogue chute becoming stuck in the housing.

After saying I'm not much of a fan of LED after burner effects, I'll admit to actually liking this hopefully it will look as good outside of the studio... fingers crossed!

I forgot to mention the arrestor hook is only dry fitted which is why there is a wobble.

Both look excellent. Mind you the drag shoot looks like your star fighter has simply relieved itself

Yes, who makes it?
I received my Details for Scale chute system and it is exceptionally well built.

Alex, the chute looks very nice!

Jason, how far along are you on your 104? All my surfaces are done and the fuel tank is installed. I'm wrapping up the pipe installation tonight.

I just ordered a Details4Scale AB ring for my F-104. Looking forward to setting it up.

Thanks guys, the AB ring was supplied direct from the client so I'm not sure, I'll try and find out.

I'd love to see how D4S have done the chute mechanism any pictures guys?

Hi Dubd, your going to maiden yours before mine at this rate I still haven't received the 220 yet which is all the model has been waiting for since November. Any day now I hope

Cheers, Alex

Interesting prehistoric bit of kit you've got there Alex, you obviously haven't seen the TJ20.

lol, no mate just really busy, I haven't flown a model since Feb last year! I very much doubt I'll be doing any flying this year either and I don't attend shows or jet meets as my schedule rarely allows for weekends. Other than not having any time I'm all good thanks. Congrats on the F4 DW said it went well
