Default SM F-4 C/L tank location

Hi,
I'm trying to find out where to drill the holes for the C/L tank and can't find any marks or info where they should be.
It looks like the front of the tank is slightly behind the LE of the wing, but I'm not sure.
Also, all my SM planes have removable fins, but I don't have any hardware to bolt the fin to the fuse, so I'm guessing the fin is glued to the fuse.
Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

The vertical stab on my Phantom is removable, I don't take it off but there is hardware to do so. You would have to remove the horizontal stabs to access the clamp that holds the carbon spar of the vertical stab. The clamp was installed on the rear bulkhead from the factory.

I only have wing tanks so I can't help you out on your C/L tank question.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info.
I don't have any clamping hardware installed. There is a piece of tubing attached to the rear former with a piece of C/F glued over it.
Guess I'll just have to glue the fin to the fuse.
What a mess, first there was no rudder servo mount installed and now this.
Wonder what other things they forgot to do that I can't see.
Thanks again,
Jon
