Default Hawk crash

I just wanted to share this video with my fellow jet pilots. The stabs on my FEJ hawk failed in flight after only 13 flights. I know this is not the first. I won't even get into the details of how things were dealt with from FEJ customer service department, but nothing different from how they have dealt with previous people in the past with similar issues. I have tried my very best to work with FEJ without taking it public, but all i got from them are lies. This accident happened in Feb and still people are loosing their aircraft due stab failure today. You will notice in the video that aircraft crashed just meters away from me. So heads up guys, beware..

That construction is downright criminal - how the hell is that meant to work and remain connected with the forces involved in these all moving stabs????????

Sorry for your loss and I'm flabbergasted people still buy this product :-(

Wow... sorry for the loss.

But I agree with the above comment. The spar is too short.

I agree 100% Only an idiot would think that this method of attaching the stab to the spar is adequate!

Wow! With the way fej used that honeycomb design, they may have well been using cardboard. Totally useless!

So, fej said this crash was all your fault, huh?

In a way, they are right, you know.
1. You should have never bought their jet.
2. You should have never tried to fly their jet.

The spar length is an issue yes, although, had that spar, even that short been built into a proper plywood box it likely would have been fine. However, even if the stab spars had been plywood, the way they mounted the aluminum spar with bolts through the stab spar it eventually would have failed. Why they seem to have such a difficult time understanding that a spar like that should be 100% encased in a box that is glued to spars and the skins is completely beyond me. But then why they feel using honeycomb for a spar is a good idea makes no sense either.
I remember building jets years ago that used aluminum blade spars, they extended into the wings only maybe 4 inches (more than this I know but a wing is also a hell of a lot bigger) but they were glued into plywood boxes that fully supported that spar. In some cases those spars only went into the fuse 2 1/2 or 3" but again, they were completely enclosed in their receptacle. It's all about properly transfering the load.
I'm curious who you bought the airplane from?

First of all, I'm happy you were able to walk away from that! Very sorry for the loss of the plane. It is only a matter of time before one of these FEJ planes seriously injures or kills someone.
