What brand jet to buy?
Looking for input from the jet crowd on which brand to buy?
I have it narrowed down to BVM or Skymaster, but I'm certainly open to other options.
Thanks, Greg

Just received my first skymaster product a couple of weeks ago which was a large BAE hawk in the 2010 scheme and powered by a kingtech K-180G.
Really great quality product and will probably end up getting more models from them.
Be sure to have a read through the hawk forum if you are interested as it has a lot of useful information

Mine took slightly longer than normal since the factory was moving facilities at the time but I would say around 9-10 weeks. I could have a look at my posts in the thread to give you a more precise date if needed. Shipping was also extremely quick with it only taking a few days to get all the way to New Zealand with no damage so very happy.

The Skymaster Hawk is a really good plane. We have several of them in our club and all of the owners just love the plane. I used to have one but I sold it because i didn't have any more place were to store planes. The nice thing is that you can make it very scale with some nice lights and details from details4scale. I still miss mine....
The Tucano is a very nice plane also but it needs more work in order to make it look scale. A good cockpit is not available and it will require a lot of work to do one. With the Jetcat SPT-5 will fly very scale but if you want more power, the SPT-10 is the way to go.

Hi Greg,
Global Jet Club has been distributing a few brands - Feibao (China), Jet Legend (China), Air-C-Race (German ownership), Redwings (Italian ownership), Flying Legend (UK), Global Jet ARF PRO(USA), and C&C(Italy)
Please note that even though many of them are now produced in China, but the quality varies depending on the owners or designers of each brands. The brands owned by western companies have better quality and service in general because the leaders or owners are more aware of what the markets are looking for. Redwings' jets are designed by an Italian company and made in Thailand with all European/US materials. It has the highest quality, but it's pricier.
Over the years, my experiences with each brand tell me that each has their own "poster" jets. Some of their jets are very well designed, built and fly very well. Some are so bad, that we don't even want to touch it. Here are a list of our recommended buys for the quality and overall performance.
Recommended Jets from Each brand
Feibao : EF-2000, T-33, F-9F Panther G2, Velox G2, Velox XL, F-15E 1/7, new 1/8 F18C, new T-45/Hawk 1/5.5,
Jet Legend: Viper 1.9M, F-16 1/6 G2 version, F-15C 1/9.5, L39 1/5
Redwings - Gryphon, Gryphon EVO sport jets
Air-C-Race: T-2, Eclipse 400
Flying Legend: Hawker Hunter.
Global Jet ARF PRO: F-22, MIG-15.
C&C: M346, M339, L39,
Each brand has different design concept, different materials used, and craftsmanship. Most of them are now made of Airex/Carbon/Fiberglass composite with plywood bulkheads.
It's a good time to get into RC jets now, because you got so many proven brands out there to choose from.
I personally fly all of these brands including Skymaster and BVM.
Mike

Another one for composite arf, they make fairly good planes, Hangar 9 even has them make there composite yak, Also Elite Aero Sports' Shockwave is made by Composite Arf as well. The ultra Lightning is another good plane with them (although rumor is that an updated lightning will be coming out soon)
