Default OMG FEJ Disease is CONTAGIOUS!

Tongue thoroughly in cheek!

Fast Forward to 2:40! www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RJkJVnlDBI Don't get too close!

Apparently the Vampire is only a carrier of the disease, as it appeared to fly quite well!

The other jet saw the FEJ model getting that close and decided to take it's own life instead of waiting for the vampire to explode all over it LOL

Looks like a F-120/Tornado or a Bobcat. At 2:49 you can see the nose gear and the main on the remaining wing down and locked. Looks like an evasive manuver to pitch down and give the vamp some space but then it pitches up and comes apart. I wonder if the gear extended and cause it to pitch down the the pilots reaction to recover it caused the left wing to fold?

exactly why balsa/film covering doesn't belong on a turbine aircraft and should be limited to edf only.

I'll disagree with that, balsa and film covering have worked for years on jets like the original kangaroo's, the hotspot, the original bobcats, the balsa bandits, etc. It's not like the .5oz fiberglass cloth that otherwise would be used to finish a balsa jet add's any strength. It comes down to the structure, if you're relying on finishing cloth and resin OR plastic film to hold the model together it wasn't built well in the first place.

i just took the turbine componets out of my F120 after 300 flights and packed away the airframe for later use. Do you wear out your composite, painted airframes?

That's nothing Cody, my fastest most aerobatic bird is covered in feathers and has hollow wing spars and structural components! It'll fly faster than 95% of the jets on the market too

Ban all F120's! Let's do a petition about it! Get my drift?

I just had another look at the video and there are nowhere near enough dayglo vests being worn!

Ditto from my side as well. My Kangaroo is over 15 years old, my Reaction -54 is 11 years old, and my Turbinator is now six years old. All of these are film covered balsa sheeted airframes. It is poorly designed structures, sloppy workmanship and or prior damage that causes these failures to occur.

The falcon 120 it's a nitro pusher jet not a turbine power jet and must be reinforced with carbon fiber spars and a lot more ,the jet price it's $170 not thousands like the fej jets ,I think the fej jet is the only one with power force shield the first china shield for the 6 generation jets now testing in jet models.

Did anyone notice that the gear deployed just after the wing was ripped off. Must have been spring down gear and lost air when one of the mains departed. Kind of humorous.

Cody, you never yanked that hard on yours. At least I've never seen you do it when we fly together. Those F120's do have limits as they were never designed to fly with turbines in the first place.

OK, guys this was mean't purely as a joke! No need to bash the 120's. I didn't even know what type of jet it was.

That actually makes much more sense than all the commotion about gear and build. ROFLOL!

The gear clearly deployed AFTER the airframe came apart.

Balsa and film coverings have been used for years before the checkbook modelers discovered things like carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass.

If the above statement offends you, you may be a checkbook modeler. I hear they are like rednecks with money...

The ONLY thing that matters in model aviation is the build, as all the FEJ threads should make crystal clear to the casual reader.
