BVM soon to release a new F16 PNP

Did not read the whole thread but got the opportunity to fly the BVM PNP 16. Added 2 ounces of lead to the nose and it made a world of difference in landing. Did not effect the trim at all during flight. Also used a reduced elevator rate except for take off with full smoke fluid on board. Full rate elevator for take off with smoke otherwise middle rate elevator was perfect for entire flight.
This one is a real winner

Got time to start working on the cockpit details. Keep in mind I get carried away with scale stuff so the stock cockpit is probably ok for most people.
The ejection seat is a poor excuse for crap on this plane and needs major mods to look decent. First it needs to be much taller. So cut it and raised it. I also had to remove the oxygen bottle but will detail that and reinstall it later. Then I used some BVM poly ply to fill the gaps. from raising the seat.
The seat belts are tiny and not even close to getting around a pilot so I removed them and will try and make new ones later.
The Acces II ejection seat has pitot tubes on the top and the ones that come on this plane are installed backwards on all the F16s I have seen . Highly recommend changing them at least.
I added some metal tape so I could make more details on the seat and cut up some thin rag material to use the the top and upper sides of the seat.

Probably not. Its to much work lol. I hope to motivate others to do it themselves. Did a little work. Will post some pics of it later.
Here is a pic David Hart got at the event a few weeks ago of the F16. With the new springs it has a much better ride and scale stance.

Thanks Ronnie!
I am almost done now just need to build up the rear cockpit where the canopy actuator and other things go and add some decals to the seat. Also need to paint the stupid red dot on the HUD. You never use red on an aircraft that has NVGs. Its 100% the opposite of the correct color and needs to be changed.
I finished making the ejection seat taller. I made new seat belts for the seat that go around the pilot. Installed the ejection seat pitot tubes the correct direction. Also did lots of little details that no one will probably ever see lol but they are their. Very happy the way it came out. Gives you a reason to get close and check out the details. Also added the flight data recorder to the ejection seat.
The stock ejection seat rails are not very scale and pretty thin and will warp in the heat. I removed them and made new ones that look allot better.

Thnx P!
I hope you bring one to Kentucky next year! 3 F16s in formation would look good
I got the cockpit done today. Will post some pics soon. BTW thnx Sean for showing me the seat was still a little low............ 2 days of work later the seat is raised another half inch and looks good lol. Couldn't you just say hes a tall pilot??

Looking really good Kris. Amazing how such little changes can make a world of difference. Most people won't notice, but those that do really do! Next mod is to angle the tip rails down a few degrees. Remind me, I'll text you a photo of how I did mine. Another simple adjustment.
Ive been fielding a lot of emails about this model and people are really still excited about it. I love the reaction when you let them pick it up! Lol.

A little video from an event over the weekend. Loving this plane more and more. The high alpha passes are the best. I do one toward the end of the video. This field has a very tight flying area so its banking and yanking mostly.
Enjoy.

Here is my new Ace in the Hole scheme BVM F16. Purchased this summer, got it in October, maidened with Nick Johnson as test pilot Dec 2. It's really something. Kingtech 140 powered. It is my first turbine. Progressing up from an Electra and many years of just general RC experience. 3 flights, I got one TO/LDG cycle. If you consider what we do is to move the sticks to make the airplane sound and appear a certain way (learned from experience), then turbine flying is very different than what I have done. The appearance, sound, response of the airplane... all different. But I am very confident in this airplane. Nick demonstrated that you can barely force it to stall, and I performed less than perfect TO's and landings and the airplane did not bite. It does not seem to have dark corners. I cannot wait to get more time on it.

Hello guys. I had a recent issue with my F16 I thought I would share so you all can keep a lookout for it. On my 4th flight nose gear failed to deploy and had to land on mains, taking out the nose door/ cylinder/ hinges. About a $150 crash, small dings and couple nights repair work. Inspecting afterwards, it appears that the unlocking cylinder (which does a complex twist as it cycles) locked up just on the edge of the main nose gear strut. This locking cylinder is anchored to the CF crossmember with an aluminum block and 2 bolts. At first I thought one of the bolts might have sheared or come out, allowing that block to rotate just slightly enough to cause the mechanism to bind with the main strut. On further takedown of the assembly, however, the 2 bolts are fine. The holes in the CF crossmember appear to be drilled with enough slop in them to allow the aluminum block to rotate. I don't know if this is just mine or if it could be present in other nose gears also. Short of retapping the block for larger bolts I am not sure of a way to completely stabilize this. I intend to dremel off just a bit of the main strut to allow clearance should this happen again (and also cycle my gear before each go out). Pretty disappointed in this small failure. Paid a lot of $$ for this stuff to work flawlessly. Tried to post a pic but RCU is not cooperating. I can try again if anyone is interested.

Does anyone have a nose gear door front hinge that they would care to sell/ loan? BVM is on backorder for now on them. By "loan" I mean you could send me yours and then I could replace it when I am able to get a new set from BVM. We could use paypal or other means...
