The Fouga Magister Is On the Market

Finally, this is the engine bay. I put a small component platform on top of the inlets for the fuel valve shutoff, ECU, air fill up fittings, on/off switch and data logger. The turbine is mounted as far forward as you can get it for cg purposes and to get better spacing with the tailpipe. I found the supplied bypass too large to fit the available space without major re-work elected not to use it.

The cockpit install was a bit of a challenge. The supplied cockpit "tubs" are too large and cumbersome to fit through the canopy openings as a single unit, plus I wanted to have reasonable accesses to the component trays underneath. My solution was to disassembled the cockpit into individually removable components as shown:

The instrument panel, side panels and cockpit floor are held in place with 2 or 3 small socket head screws. Note the balsa/ply standoffs on the fuselage sides and floor as attachment points. The glare shields are gently wedged in place and the pilot/seat are centered with dowels and held with magnets. Here is the sequence for the forward cockpit:

Craig thanks for posting. Very helpful and timely for me. I see you are also using A123 batteries from electrodynamics which is what I use also. Where did you get your pilot?
I will be using a jet munts 100 which I believe is almost a 1/2 lb less in weight than the kingtech.
Looking forward to rigging mine.
Thanks, Roy

It's a "Korean War" pilot figure. I bought mine from BVM but I think this is the same one from DreamWorks. The size is about right and I figured the era was close.

Good luck on your Fouga.

I forgot to show photos of my air tanks. They go in the aft section. The two smaller tanks go on either side, as far forward as possible to clear the tailpipe. I placed the larger air tank on the bottom, far enough back that it is aft of the split in the tailpipe. It probably isn't necessary but I taped a layer of BVM heat shield blanket over the forward portion of the large tank.

Rear Cockpit
Plenty of room on the rear part
Gaby used the same method as in the front : the Cockpit dash sides are fixed to the Fuselage while center part is open-able ( No glue or bolts )

Isaac, thanks for posting all this. Between Craig, Avi and you I should be able to figure out how best I want to rig mine.
A few questions
How did you rig outboard flap? Looks like you were setting up a torque tube?
Where did you buy your lights?
Where did you find the quilted material for the side?
I will be putting the same Jets-Munt turbine in mine.

Hi Roy , I set up the flaps with the torque rod , but I am going to change it to 2 - servos per side.I think it is too mutch stress on the servo to drive the speet flaps.for the lights , we have a store near by ALL ELECTRONICS ,that have all kinds of L,E.D lights and shokets , I made my own.
the quilted material for the side are actually plastic mats found it around the hose have no idea how it got hear
