thanks

I used a B300F with no bypass. It worked fine. I think it would be hard to stuff in a big block bypass anyway, plus you would have to custom make it. I really dont think you need it and my even get better thrust with out it.

Good luck.

The painting makes for a very clean look. I've done a few jets with it and it really cleans up the inside of the aircraft. I use a very light coat of gray or white primer depending on what base color i want. then minimal on the splatter paint. the can lasts longer that way and certainly helps to keeps the weight down. I feel this is coming on a future F-16 build..

Nice work Ziv.

thank you Gary, much appreciated, since you had no by-pass installed, will i be correct in assuming that you didn't have an issue with the gear doors opening during flight.

Hi Fender,

I use thick CA, but first make sure you sand the airline holders bottom and then the CA will hold it well.

Thanks for the kind word guys.

Nose cone - painted and installed. I made sure the Lipo pack are balancing the plane properly. I put the plane on the CG stand (280mm from the LE) and it is just right.
4 packs in the nose - 2 for the PB, and 2 for the Unilight system.

Ziv

I never had an issue. I do not fly real fast. Mostly below 150mph. I think the max I ever saw was momentary 180mph.

Just wondering if anyone has any recent cg updates? Is 260-300mil from the LE at the wing root still the zone to work in? Mine has come out at 280 wth no ballast so far.

Thanks

Hi Levi,

I recently sold my SM F-16 to a friend in Florida. My last CG settings were 285-290. I preferred a more aft CG to help keep the AOA higher on final to keep the speed slower. I used low rate elevator for landing to avoid pitch over control.
Good luck.

Thanks Gary. I've used the recommendations you sent me previously for my set up mate. Fingers crossed this one is more successful.

Well, I'm all setup. Ready for maiden.

All 777 MKS servos on 7.2v
KIngtech 310 (280oz Fuel) 3 Tanks
DX20 with Cortex Gyro
UP3 for mains and doors
Electronic valves for canopy locks, speed brakes and brake, servo on canopy operation
Dry weight with UAT full 60.4 Lbs
CG @ 12" or 304mm from L/E but fall to the nose a little
I don't get a full 100mm out of the elevators, I get about 85 max. I'll need new horns and move the pivot point to get more if needed.

All the best for the maiden. Mine came in almost exactly the same weight as yours. Does your nose gear retract all the way into the fuse? Even with 110 psi mine only goes 95% of the way up and the gear door has to push it in the last bit. I'm using the Jet Tronic High Flow valve. On my last F16 I had two normal Jet Tronic valves linked together in parallel and still the same problem. I'm worried over time the nose door ram will fail with the extra load pushing the gear up every time.

Cheers
Levi

Mine was doing that at first but when I opened the UP3 valve up on the gear up side it went away. Also running 120PSI. This is the main reason I went with the UP valve (Hi Pressure). On the gear out cycle the nose lags behind a little until the main gear is almost out but does not seem to be a problem. I am wondering what you're max elevator travel is? As stated I'm at 85mm max.

Flying in Saturday.

I also repainted the tail cone as I did not care for the pink NO PUSH markings on it. Lol

I can't remember my elevator throws but 85mm is heaps. I would have that as your high rates then knock it back to 60-70 for low rates. Viper1GJ had a post with some great set up info so look over this thread and you'll find it. Great scheme, same as mine 😁

that was discussed pretty heavily at some and I believe Anton said not to balance them. This design has two points so itís very strong...the design takes into account the weight distribution, Iím sure.

I see. I was wondering as you said the attachment hinging and servo pivot holds it well. also the amount of weight i would have to add to the L/E of the stab is 4-5 oz each

After losing my 1/5 F16 one year ago seconds into the maiden flight, Ive finally completed the maiden flight of F16 number two. We still haven't found the cause of the crash of the first one, and never will.
It was hard doing the same thing over again, and fairly stressful on the maiden but i couldn't be happier with the result.
Thanks very much Viper Gary for the setup advice and cg info. Also thanks a bunch to Michel from JetsRC who always sets his models up to perfection. Sym from Tailored pilots, you're a great man.
Anton and Skymaster John were fantastic with their service and support, as was my Australian Skymaster dealer Peter Agnew from Intairco. I'm grateful you all supported me and the end result is very sweet.
We missed the maiden flight on camera but here's a take off and landing video of flight number two. Its an awesome machine. Thanks Skymaster.

Jetcat P300
Emcotech 2018 with SBUS
Futaba 177s all round
Weight 27.3kg dry
Unilight burner ring and light system
Custom smoke tanks over cg with Jetcat BUS smoke pump
Intairco fuel system with ITrap Telemetry
