Wren Double Wall Tailpipe needs cutting
#2
A pair of large scissors will do the trick or a pair of those cutters the RC
car guys use to trim lexan bodies.
Keep in mind whatever you use will be ruined by cutting stainless steel,
don't use your wife or girlfriend's best sewing scissors.
Keep the distances of the positioning of the inner & outer pipes the same
as it was before you trimmed them. - John.

in the tube there is two strips (1/2 inch wide honey cone shpe) one at each end that i can see that holds the inner and outer apart. The problem ill have is i will loose the one at the outer end of the pipe.

On my Wren pipe (single walled) I only received one of the supports (some call it the cookie cutter).
The cookie cutter is loose on the pipe, it can slide along the pipe. The front of my pipe has metal
straps to fix it to the model to maintain the correct gap between the pipe & the exhaust nozzle on
the engine, the cookie cutter is fixed to the model & the pipe can expand & contract with heat by
sliding through the cookie cutter at the back of the model.
The drawing that came with my pipe gave the dimensions & positioning of the optional outer pipe
which you make out of thin aluminium (litho plate). The distance between the front of the inner pipe
relative to the front of the outer pipe is important. Also important is how much the outer pipe extends
past the inner pipe at the cookie cutter. When you shorten both the inner & outer pipe these
measurements must be maintained. - John.

I think what fuyfly-RCU is saying is this, when the inner pipe is flush to the outer pipe, at the rear, the front of the inner pipe is two inches longer than the outer pipe at the front. In order to be able to draw in cooling, the inner pipe needs to be 3/8" to 1/2" shorter at the outlet than the outer pipe. Hope this clears up everything.....
