They are strong and fast servos for half the price of the JR's. I have read and hear nothing but good about them is why I am trying them out, well that and Barry is a dealer for them. LOL I also here rumor that Savox builds Futaba servos and after reading this thread it seems they make many other labels as well.

Hi Dirk

Must agree that the Savox servos are very good I have some in my gassers, well made and seem to center consistently, I have just finished my Fei Bao T33 and will maiden it next weekend, if you need any info I am happy to help.

Ive been flying a wide selection of all of the Spektrum servos in anything from Hotliners to a 10' EDF flying wing (hiflight cover model!).

For the price they are amazing servos and i compare their centering abilities to be just as good as JR. I wouldnt have any second thoughts about using them in a jet. Matter of fact, i replaced an 8411 with one after the 8411 quit working.

I have a few Spectrum 6030's in my Hawk, they seem very nice, they are on flaps, rudder, steering. But when I recently went to buy more for my UF I see they are discontinued already. That is one thing I hate about modern marketing, you can expect everything to change constantly. That is to me the single best reason to buy 8411's or 8711's, they have been proven and stayed around a long time. But I think in the future we may just be rolling "new" dice in every jet we build. At least it seem that way if you go with the new brands.

I've used JR servos (8711, 8611 and 8411 mostly) in all my warbirds and jets without any failures...knock on wood. I tried Savox servos (mid grade) a year or so back and was not pleased with them. I had one burn out and another that gave me trouble operating an aileron. Hence, I'd stick with the old saying that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

IMO, Futaba servos have best centering and hold slop free operation longer. I have lots of 8411.8611a ,8711 but am converting over to Futaba more esp with the sbus stuff happening.

Lets not forget about the Airtronics 94780M. Torque: 361 Oz/In (26.0 Kg/Cm) @ 4.8V , 423 Oz/In (30.5 Kg/Cm) @ 6.0V
Speed: 0.19 Sec/60 Deg @ 4.8V, 0.15 Sec/60 Deg @ 6.0V

Aluminum case, metal gears, Fits JR Horns. Great servo..

I've been using them for years and they do not get that bad slop in them over time..

Dubd, They where in the F-16 as you know....

Husafreak, which servos are you using in the UF?

Jeff, the Airtronics are great, but priced almost the same as what the higher torque 8911hvs sell for.

I'm going with Savox on my next large JWM project. My first choice is JR but I was talked into the Savox servos by my German dealer.

Andy, what did your dealer say about Savox? The Savox 1270TG seems popular with the 3D guys. 487oz of torque at 7.4v and no slop after hundreds of flights.

He pretty much reflected what you just stated. After hundreds of flights compared to the comparable JR servos they measured significantly less slop. I've seen these servos being used over the years I have been flying jets and I have yet to hear about anyone having any issues. I thought I would give them a try since I am getting a nice package deal and they wanted to provide them as part of my package.

Thanks, Andy

Scott, I heard the quick disconnect cable makes installation in jets a PITA because the connector doesn't flex.

I was given a set of savox last yr for a gasser. No complaints. I have also 8411s and they still are good. Have some spektrum 6030s on some. Don't center as well as I want so relegated to flaps and such.

i'm still running a set of 5955 s in two jets with zero slop. On 5955 and 7955 when the settings are tightened to lowest setting they center fine for me

The only servos I have had flounder were older 2721 analog JR servos. Only total failure was in smaller stuff like HS65 mini and little jr.

I've been using the Savox 1256TG in all my models for about 3 years now, absolutely swear by them.
Gary.
P.s. Under no circumstances use the Spektrum 6020, I had one jam on ail full deflection on a 55cc gasser, not a pretty sight!

I used to like Hitecs guess they are still OK, but I think Savox are much better for roughly the same price, maybe even a little cheaper

I have run Savox in the past with good luck well except a had one that would not work out of the box. I have run Futaba and Hitec with good luck as well, but for me, I am just comfortable flying JR servos and that has to count for something. I have JR servos that are 15 years old and they work perfect.

I'm not saying other servos are bad, I just prefer JR.
