Default BVM F100 F Build thread

I AM SO EXCITED! !

Just started on it last week. Here's a few pics. Always wanted one of these. Gonna do flight metal. P180rx for power. I also bought all the extra bling from Details for Scale.

I bought all the dry transfers from Promark.

I will post a photo of the scheme I will do it in.
Gonna get it ready to fly for Mississippi Afterburner !!

When I was at BVM last year just before Thanksgiving Bob told me he was selling F-100 kits faster then they could make them.

Wow. Bob should really update it though. Plug in wings, live hinging, put flap servos in the wing, slats done, painted...Hmm that's about all I can think about. The same treatment his Mig 15 got.

He should continue selling the "box-o-stix" version to those who want it as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying my build, but if it was a BVM "arf", I probably would've bought at least a couple by now.

Hi Derrick,
Looks like you're off to a good start!

I haven't touched mine yet, but have most of the parts. Need to get my shop done first - that has been fun, but it has been taking up a lot of time. Keep us updated !

Derrick... I bought that jet "Brand New" finished from Greg Anixter back in 2005... I cant find any numbers on him.. I remember he was in Arizona... May be Dan Gill from "Details" can help you with colors... This bird has over twenty perfect flights and it does fly heavy.. a powerful turbine is suggested...

see if this video link works for you... that's John Redman flying the F100 F

Good Luck...

Thats a good turbine.. the thrust to weight ratio is better than the Olympus... and not as thirsty either..

Good luck with the build...

I'm not trying to spoil the party here but i Own and fly 2 of the BVM f-100D single seaters and i just love them. They are both powered with Jetcat P120sx's and those have proven to be the perfect combination of power to weight ratio.

Hey Greg. ....you party pooper....hahaha. ..lol. I might be asking you for some pointers here and there.

The reason I chose the 180 is because I mainly fly off grass and want the extra push out the rear end....however, bvm recommends a 180 or 200 on there site.....anyways. ....
I am going to do the titanium like yours.
I found some really thin sheet ......it's a lot thinner than the stuff titanium goat sells. Almost 4 times thinner...but it's expensive.

I will post more photos in the next few days

I've had the pleasure of seeing Greg fly his off both pavement AND grass and can confirm that his performance is exceptional on the P120's off both.

Yea, if you're doing an F model with all of the scale details *and* flying it off grass, then I think that a 180 is warranted. I flew an F model powered by an AMT 450 and it was not at all over powered on takeoff, and that was on pavement. Now in the air, it would haul *****, so be prepared to keep the throttle well managed after takeoff, but for getting off the ground, I think you'll be happy with the 180, especially off of grass.

Bob
