In most of the videos showing Seba hovering the Avanti S down low the airplanes were powered by JetCat P180s and were equipped with all of the recommended equipment. Only the Avanti S he demoed at Joe Nall last year and some of the Avanti S FC (Full Composite) airplanes he's demoed recently have been powered by the Jet Italia 250. That in mind a 180 does deliver enough power/thrust to hover as long as the airplane is not setup to be significantly heavier than what's recommended (and of course elevation/weather will have an impact on performance).

things like flat spins, and some other maneuvers that would benefit from thrust vectoring may be fun.

Thrust vectoring with a 140 is no problem (as long as you don't plan to hover...as you already know), but the Grumania pipe with the built-in thrust vectoring nozzle (SEBA200-15) is too short and the ID is too large to work well with the K-140G (it will work with a JetCat P140 or Jet Central Cheetah as those turbines are longer than the KingTech K-140G, and it does work for most other 160-210+ turbines). But you might be able to add this nozzle from Tam to your existing pipe:

http://www.tamjets.com/original/prod...roducts_id=713

Or you might be able to mount a nozzle separate from the pipe (after beefing up/adding structure accordingly), similar to what is done for the larger Avanti S XL (aka XXL):

Jason,

thanks for the info. I'll look into the thrust vectoring kit from Tamjets

Can't thank him enough, highly recommended.
I'm glad I found him in this thread.

this will be different for everyone, I recommend you do the inflight setup on your igyro. The manual also talks about getting the optimal speed setting as well. Are you using the gyro on the thrust vector part only or the control surfaces?

Yes. Thanks. I get that they will be different. Just looking for a reference. Been flying the plane for awhile. Next time out I'm going to set up the gyro

Hi guys I have a question regarding choice of servo for rudder and flaps. Is anyone using jr8411 for flaps and rudder? Is that enough power to be safe or is it marginal ? Thank you

I'm just building another Avanti myself and I've selected JR8411 for Ailerons, Elevators and nose wheel, JR8711 for Flaps and Rudder. Book calls for 8911s (not HV).

But the book is showing a picture of 8411 in the flaps and rudder, and that's what I did. Just didn't know if thats good enough. I guess I should change them out

One of the guys at our field lost his first Avanti early on due to a flap servo failure. Also, they wouldn't have made dual control horns if there wasn't more pressure than average. The difference in cost doesn't justify going cheap with the chance of losing the plane.

I wouldn't call an 8411 going cheap. At 6 volts, 190oz of torque. You could bump up to an 8611 for piece of mind. The flaps on the avanti are not huge. I forgot what I have on mine, sorry.

I wasn't trying to go cheap especially on jets. I was just following the pictures on the flaps and rudder that shows 8411.

I have 8411,s on all my surfaces no issues whatsoever. They are small surfaces compared to giant scale 3d stuff and like Mike said if it's good enough for Seba ..............

Seems like you all finished building and I am only starting now! Thanks for the great advise guys! Fitted Savox 35kg all around just to make sure. Bought IGyro but no idea yet on how that will work but testing it on another craft with no success yet...patience! Busy with Engine (KT17) fit with pipe(TV). The fuel tanks keep 5l which I think is 170 oz? Looks like enough fuel? But I noted the wheels not the same during braking..one solid and one moving...hose length?

Currently a Merlin 140, but planning on thrust vectoring and M200 soon. I have pushed it, but not as hard as I can or usually do; but only because I'm still getting "dialing in" the CG and getting comfortable with it. I have no reason to think it won't handle anything. It is very well built and flies great!

Hi
I bought me a Krill Avanti S that i keep on building , i think the plane looks good and I am really looking forward to the maiden .

One question for you, I see no Krill Avanti with wing FENC mounted like Sebart`s Avanti S ... you know why?

I've flown Sebart Avanti and find it flies wonderful, and i hope Krill Avanti will fly the same way . Do you now why i don`t see Krill Avanti with wing FENC on youtube ?? the Wing fenc supplied the kit.

Are there advantages or disadvantages with wing FENC ?

Best Regards
Morten

Don't see why you couldn't make them yourself? I know the wing is slightly different, so not sure you could trace one of the sebarts. I debated on whether or not to put mine on. It does require a little more care in handling in the bags.

Put a gyro in it and can the fences. Kind of a pain.

Would u mind posting pictures of the mounting points for the landing gear? I'd like to see how robust it is

I have the Krill LaRacer color scheme, air retracts and JetTech tank. It is with my builder, Jet Central Cheetah, Grumania pipe, Powerbox iGyro 3e and full Jeti radio/telemetry. JR servos all around on 6V
The finish is pretty good...not the same as an Oxai 2m F3A, but very good nonetheless. The only comment is the fuselage seam due to painted in mold....it doesn't bother me.

I am looking forward to spring for the maiden.
